Thanksgiving 2007 Carnival Freedom C.M. group cruise

Who is going?
Just curious as this is such a good deal and is going to help me escape my usual Thanksgiving duties so I can actually enjoy the holiday with the people I love the most, rather than slaving to feed the masses of relatives that arrive at my door once a year to be fed and immediately leave as I face the daunting task of cleaning up after the hit and run diners lol!!
I think its a shame that I have been so busy doing so much these people that I see once a year that I am missing out on actually spending time with my own husband and kids.

This would definitely get me in the Holiday spirit!!!

Is anyone joining us for the great escape?

Nancy is away on a cruise, so I haven't chatted with her lately to see how many are already booked. But we have more than a year to gather more cruisemates!

I've just begun to put together the "official" promo for this group.

We're calling it the Freedom For Turkeys Group Cruise

If nothing else comes up we will be going. I booked 2 cabins already. But its a long ways out and it's hard to say if we actually can make this cruise. But I am sooooo hoping. On the other hand I would miss the day after Thanksgiving sales..what a bummer

I too would love to be on this crusie----- with the family members that we like and not the moochers that show up for a free meal----- Yes I know its Thanksgiving--and we are thankful when they leave---lol

I will be there with my husband, 17 year old daughter and I believe my three sisters and their families. This will be my first cruise mates cruise, so I'am looking forward to finally putting a face behind the name.

we will be doing vacation picks for next year. Hopefully I can get thanksgiving day off at the FD. If I do I think I will be booking this cruise. Prices are excellent and I agree, get away from the usual TK dinner.

OK I called Nancy and spoke to Marietta to officially book our cruise.It would appear that everything is in order and we are ready and revved to go, even though its more than a year away. Its still exciting anyway you slice it.

Ok I secured the vacation time now I have to quadruple check with the wife and see if her parents are going with us since we always spend Thanksgiving with them. I also spoke with Nancy and according to her the $25pp deposit just gets you onto the ship not guaranteeing you a particular cabin. I think she said if I wanted to book a guarantee balcony I would have to pay the full 20% deposit. Is this typical of the group cruises?

That's not right, and likely a misunderstanding of what she said (though I think Nancy's away, so you might have talked to her assistant.

The $25 deposit will give you a guaranteed balcony cabin, if that's what you want.

The full deposit is required if you want to book a SPECIFIC balcony cabin.

The guarantee, guarantees you A cabin in the category of cabin you request, but not its location.

Off course Kuki is right. WE booked two guaranteed cabins. One inside for the girls and one balcony for us.

I don't have specific cabin numbers or decks yet.

Thank you for clearing that up. Having your info reminded me that I asked about further discounts ie: military and she said she does not think they would apply and that if I did go that route then I would be booking through normal channels and the normal deposit would apply. So hopefully I will be booking by Monday. Then if you don't mind Kuki I will be starting the thanksgiving '07 "Muster to Miami" drive!
