O.K. I'm back at work. Now where were we? Rescue, it reminds me of a story an acquaintance told. He works vice for HPD. About a guy that hung himself. eewwwww Don't think I had better go there.

I agree, Dina! I have had some pretty low spots in my life but never to where I didn't think it would improve!

In a job like this you become cynical of everything. My wife gets pissed at me sometimes with the way I treat people or talk to them. Hey if your the President I will treat you like the President if your a dirtbag I'll treat you like a dirt bag. Thus you understand the way I talk to REDZONE. I have become so bad sometimes that if I don't want to be bothered I walk around, even indoors, places with my sunglasses on and my ipod in so people won't talk to me.

Obviously we are very understanding people since we continue to come here and talk to you every day.

I just realize that we provide you with amusement and entertainment. That will be $2.99 We're the budget plan.

REDZONE what are you smoking today, did you harvest the marijauna this month or something. Your posts are so late that I have to go back and look up what the hell you are referring too. Go back to cleaning your shotgun, counting your empty tubes of poligrip, sloppin the hogs or something and get with the program.

pretty much. Just throw em back in bed that's it. But when we have to take them to the hospital it's called "slinging a lizard" don't ask me why. The worst part is that with most of these people, there family lives up north. They refuse to help their parents! I had one lady tell me her son said if you ever need anything just call 911. She calls us to move furniture, help move her husband from one room to the other, take out the garbage. She would pretend to fall and call 911 find her sitting on floor next to a chair and after picking her up ask us to get her groceries out of the car. So she shopped, drove, walked up a flight of stairs but falls out of a chair and can't get up We put a stop to that. in about a month or so, right around the holidays we will start getting the "weakness" calls which are really sympathy calls. These people find out that their family isn't coming to visit them during the holidays and feign illness thinking everyone will come running down to florida for them. And there is not a thing wrong with them. I often drive around the retirement areas and wonder "is this where it all ends?" let me off this bus now if it is!

Ok got my vacation time secured for the TG cruise and now secured my april ski trip vacation time. have enjoyed the day putting together my ski package to Breck I have to get flights from here for me and my buddy and NY for my 2 BIL's I got flights that arrive in Denver 20 min apart. Am I good or what. Plus I found ski in/ski out right on the beaver run lift for 5 days for $300 a man! Getting psyched. Now just need to secure my first week of Jan to take the kids skiing in NC (REDneckZONE country) it's in the 30's up there tonight.

Wow. I know that what you wrote is true and it is so sad, but that certainly isn't WHY you are there. I was real concerned when my MIL bought the house directly behind mine. That was about 14 years ago. She is EXTREMELY domineering, but, well, I don't domineer very well. Actually, not at all. We went toe-to-toe a time or two, albeit, in a respectful way, and she came to understand that I do things my way, not hers! I'm glad now that she is so close. She will be 101 years old January 9. We are all the family she has, so her care is our responsibility. After we retire, we will stay close by and take care of her, but after she passes, we will hit the road (yes, in our RV). My boss tells me that she is in such good health, she will probably live to be 120! He may be right. I can see, though, why you would be cynical, Joe. BTW, if my DS had better be ready to take care of me in my old age, or I'm going to come back and haunt him!

O.K. let's talk cruises!

Ya, know, I think I need to line up a facility where I can board her for a week, so I can take a 7-day cruise! When are you going to Breckenridge? I love it there. We stayed at a ski-in/ski-out lodge there. It was great. First day/night there we had about 18" of fresh powder! Aahhhhh.....

Going in april. I usually go to Breck or Park City. 3 years ago we went to Utah in end of march. Nice weather right? wrong. I had to fly from here to charlotte then salt lake. The 2 major storm systems in the country were over those 2 places and only over those 2 places. delays cost us about $200 worth of beer in the airport bars for 4 of us. we were hammered. We knew we had a designated driver cause one of our 5 guys flew out early to his Montana property and was gonna drive and meet us for the week. He said what should have been a liesurely 5-6 hour drive turned into 10 hours through the worst storm he has ever seen. He said zero visibility and there was so much snow he didn't even know if he was on the road at times. He said he just followed in what he thought were old tire paths. He said there was a point for like 4 hours that he didn't even see another car.. funny thing is with our delays and his storm we wound up in SLC at the same time. Then what should have been a 20 min drive to the slopes took 2 hrs. There was like a foot of snow in what seemed 10 minutes. cars and trucks were off the road all over the place and here we are 5 he-man fireman driving like everyones grandma. everyone in the car had a job. I was the navigator, the other 2 were wiping windows so we could see and one guy slept the whole trip like that scene out of "Airport". Of course he wakes up as soon as we got there and we pulled him out of the car and threw him in the snow. But, we made it. The storm eventually dumped 4 feet of snow and turned our skiing into paradise. We kept our beer icey cold just shoving into all the snow on the balcony, we never had to use the fridge. Man the stories that I can tell you from this trip. Every time we all go away there are "stories" but it was probably the most fun vacation I ever had. Man I am just sitting here laughing about some of the memories of it. lets see. My friend who rarely drinks did 15 shots of tequila, another guy **** in his pants, Another friend who can have any girl he wants (ex male model) got shot down by one. Accidently leaving a friend in one of the bars I go back to get him. 5 girls see me and ask if I can take a picture for them. next thing I know I am now drinking with them and forgot about all my friends. Walking back I get buried in snow to my chest falling off the stairs and couldn't climb out. I get back to the place to find my stupid friend sitting there drinking hot chocolate. The other 3 come back later in a stupor walk into the living room not seeing me on my air matress aasleep and fall down on top of me one guy rolled under the dining room table and got tangled up in the chairs. Man o man there is more to this than I can type here but these are now famous stories in our FD. It made my day just being able to relive it for a few minutes.

What fun! I can only imagine some of the other stuff. I think we all have those closets full of "those moments in time!" One of mine was a VERY long time ago and..... well, I had better use a little discretion, here! Glad I entice you down memory lane.

I also had the best snow storm/skiing in Utah at the end of March in 1986. 54 inches from Thursday afternoon to Late Fiday night in Snowbird. Friday skiing was great as long as we stayed in the trees, the lighting was really flat. Saturday and Sunday were incredible, Blue skys, not a cloud to be seen and bottomless untracked powder. We stayed at the Cliff which was pretty new at the time and was ski in/ ski out also. Lots and lots of partying at night, but this time it wasn't like good ol Joes nights. I had those nights the first time skiing in Utah when I was a senior in highschool. 42 of us from school went down and skiied Alta, Snowbird and Park City and partied everynight in to the wee hours and up early and skiing and incredibly hungover. 8)

senior in HS? HAHAHA this was a bunch of 40yo men doing this. We spend so much serious time together going on medical and fire calls that when you put us all together outside of work we act like teenagers. Did I mention throwing snowballs at the Park City police? 2 of em standing there as we threw snowballs at em. Luckily they were to far away to hit em coupled with being trashed but they just watched us patiently and didn't bother us. The worst time skiing was in Breck. The first time I went there I got altitude sickness. No one told me not to drink alcohol before going to mountains. We left the day after the Superbowl what a mistake. It was like having the worst flu of my life. I remember going from our room to get a cup of coffee(being it's morning and I mentioned the word coffee everyone reading this will go get one now, wonderful drug isn't it) I remember having to walk up and down just 3 little steps and it exhausted me. I had to go back to sleep. I skied but it was miserable. I kept getting in trouble by patrol for laying down in the snow. It lasted 3 days of 4 days skiing.

HAHAHAHA Sounds like a great time had by all. Maybe not the guy who S### his pants but then the rest of you had a good laugh.
