I was at our state Christmas Party and this story was shared with me, if you can please send this young man a card.

The soldiers' name is Kevin Downs and he is a SGT in the Army. He is from the Cookeville, TN area. He has lost both legs from wounds and may loose an arm due to infection in his shoulder. Kevin is 22 years old. He is feeling blue as one can understand and if enough of us send him a card or letter of encouragement it might help. I am sending him a note of encouragement and a telephone card so he call call home etc.It helps to be able to talk to family and friends.

Yes he has been released and he is home, but he may yet lose his left arm which has always been a possibility and remains so, and he may never be able to spend a lot of time on his prosthetic legs. The burn damage to the skin on his stumps is so severe that they may never toughen up enough to sustain Kevin’s weight on prostheses.
