We're having a "pick-a-name" gift exchange at work, and to make things easier, we all made a "wish list" of what we'd like. Interestingly enough, most people listed what they "don't want" rather than what they'd like! I guess we've all been the recipients of too many useless gifts!
As for me, I don't want anything scented. Perfumes, soaps, bubble bath, lotions, even candles. I am highly allergic to perfumes and have to give all that stuff away. Unfortunately, daycare parents always seem to give exactly those items as teacher gifts.....

A gift certificate for a meal at a sushi restaurant. (I guess I could give it to the lovely Mrs. Jones, (Vita).

I guess I am like RD. I don't do well with the smelly stuff. Also gift cards. I always forget to use them, especially if they are in low amounts.

At least you Teacher-Types get something.....
Every year, Mrs. Cynic gives each child in her care a $10 gift....
And gets a big case of Jack Squat in return.
Make that seven cases of Jack Squat.

**anything that requires instructions to assemble
PS: You can send all the fruitcake to me (as long as it is no older than let's say 5 years); I love fruitcake.

One year at the gift exchange my male co-worker gave the female manager a bag of dog bones. We aren't quite sure what he was saying about her.
Gifts I won't want to receive are the bunny PJs the kid was wearing in the movie "Christmas Story" and Frozen TV dinners.

The first Christmas my DH and I spent together (before marriage), for Christmas he wrapped and put under the tree:
1. A crankshaft
2. A camshaft
3. An oilpump
4. Gaskets
He assured me I would use them everyday, and I did! From then on I always told him EXACTLY want I wanted for Christmas. And just think, I married him anyway. "If that isn't love....."
P.S. I had a 1967 Chevelle that need the engine overhauled, BADLY!

I am a wine lover, but I don't like getting wine-related gifts. NOw, getting actual wine is great, (as long as it's something I like, but getting whatever new battery operated corkscrew has been dreamed up by the engineers at "Let's Make Things More Complicated Than They Need Be" academy for the completely lazy, is NOT good.
I also detest getting usless things to "decorate" my place. Jeez. If I wanted that stuff, I woulda picked it out myself, trust me.
I hate getting clothes, too.
I love getting jewelry. Of any kind. You can never have too much jewelry. More jewelry, I say.

I wouldn't want a furry animal like a puppy or kitty, or candles or a lot of perfume. The other night our Youth Group went to a lady's home to visit and by the time we left I was sniffling, clogging up. She had 3 cats (one a Persian) and candles everywhere.
While I can tolerate and enjoy most kinds of music--I wouldn't appreciate certain types of rap music.
I also wouldn't want a pink slip (termination) during the Christmas season.

Electronics or computer equipment unless I have specifically told them what I want and the EXACT specifics.
Unless it comes from my son, most computer stuff goes back to the store.
I also wouldn't want a pet rat.
Take care,
Mike
