Default What Stage Are You?

What stage of packing are you?

The list is in hand.

Your suitcases are out.

Things are laid out in a spare room.

You are ironing and things are at the cleaners.

You could care less, your spouse handles this.

You are all packed.

You will buy all new clothes in Florida.

You are crying in the corner, overwhelmed by the holiday and the cruise,
hoping if, you wriggle your nose, it will magically get done.

I had good intentions, and I refuse to answer, on the grounds it may incriminate me

We are some what pre- packed. The tee shirts are in a bag, some things are hanging in the closet ready for the suitcase.
Cleaners, and washing are next.
all the Christmas stuff is done.
Now to relax over the next week. No company to worry about.
Then drive to Miami on the 27th.
See you all soon.

Not as far along as I would have liked to be, but under control. Hanging clothes are mostly staged in the cruising closet. Some things, like power strip, sunblock, tank tops and shorts are in one of two suitcases, not quite packed but at least there. Haven't tied up loose ends yet and that is the part that concerns me the most.

When I leave here on Tuesday AM for Delaware I would like to have most of it done so that all I have to do upon my return on the 26th is move the suitcases around. Since we are going on both Century and Liberty I'm gonna try packing for two different cruises in different suitcases. That way I can leave the Liberty clothes in the car till we return from Century and have less luggage to deal with on both cruises. We'll see how successful that will be.

Getting closer now. By this time in two weeks we will have initially met you all at Lombardi's and spent the first evening onboard. Can't believe that after waiting 400+ days for this to arrive, it's almost here.

Trip I think you've been reading my mind,,,I am in the stage of chaos

But I'm not really worried,,,I work well under pressure.

My motto: If I forget it,,,I'll buy it when I get there,,,

But I am getting the suitcases down tonight. Time to get started.

I like Tweets can't believe after 400+ days of talking about it,,,it's finally almost here,,,We leave for Fla in 10 days

Good topic Trip:

We have relatives coming for the hiolidays so the "extra" room is going to be in use so the selection process is earlier than normal.

Betty has already selected her formal and informal wardrobe. I also have done the same. I just finished washing and placing my other "stuff" in my granddaughters closet. Some things will need to go to the cleaners and a couple of other things I will have to iron.

I think we are about there. The only thing left is the "packing". I'm not allowed to even be in the vicinity when that happens. I think we'll get by with one garment bag and a suitcase. That doesn't include the "stuff" we're bringing.

It's only five days so it won't be too much to bring.

Take care,
Mike

Well, today was the day! I dug out summer clothes I shouldn't have put away and checked out what I might want to wear for dinner time! :-) I thought about you, Trip as I got my 3 pairs of shoes together!!! :-)

I've been working 10 hr. days (plus 6 hrs. yesterday) so I know I need to get organized because those long hours won't let up.

I checked the time off list and cannot believe how many people we have out after Christmas. I put my name down for the 29th and after that not my problem!!!

After looking at pictures of how great the Century looks, I'm finally getting excited about this trip!

Put the luggage in the spare bedroom the other day - and a couple of the pre-packed organizer type things. Cruise clothes are always in a special area in my closet. My 4 page packing list just needs updating as to what clothes I take on this trip (the 4th page is what I have to do around here to lock up the house ... and now to take care of Muffy (my 10 month old Bichon girl puppy)!

The time is flying now - to meeting lots of you at Lombardi's and the rest on the ship!

Uh, there's sort of the beginning of a list in my head.....other than that...I'm thinking I've got to get through Christmas first and will then get serious....darn well better, right? Not much time after Christmas. Hayley and I did find some nice dinner clothes at Penneys yesterday so that's a start.

Basically done, for the most part. We fly out this Thursday to go to MO to visit our daughter and her family and then we are home two days before we fly out for the cruise. While I was packing for the MO trip I went ahead and packed the cruise "stuff". Now all I have to do is take the right suitcase on the right trip so I'm not wearing the heavy winter stuff for MO while I'm in the warm tropical areas! I am ready for this cruise! We had an open house at work today for 300+ folks and the 5 of us did all the cooking so now I'm exhausted and ready to relax.

See all of you soon!

Default Little stacks

Believe it or not, while I was putting away the summer clothes, I decided then what we would wear, and made a little pile in or closet. Formals are all hanging up, and the suitcases are within reach.....

I'm the one crying in the corner, in panic mode, not even ready for Christmas, much less the cruise!

My summer clothes are packed away in the basement, along with the suitcases. Nothing is ready, except for the CDs. Maybe I'll be wearing CDs to the pool. Hmmm, can you make a formal dress out of CDs?

Don't panic Donna! Join the club....I was still out Christmas shopping tonight and figure I'll have to get serious next week...but at least I have the advantage of my summer clothes being right in the closet since they never really go anywhere. You'll be fine! and CD's make a lovely outfit!

Donna: Here is your next dress. It's made from CD's.

BTW: Betty and I have now gone into "semi-panic" mode. My sister's Christmas day plans have collapsed, so we are having sixteen people for Christmas Eve. Yes, it was my idea. My brother and his family, sister and BIL and our family will be together on Christmas Eve. That's nice but it sure will take a lot of time out of our schedule. It also puts Betty in a panic mode because she becomes worried when large groups get together and if for some reason I'm unable to function. This isn't so bad, my brother is a carbon copy of me and he and my daughter can take over in an instant. Betty, my sister and SIL can drink some wine, cuddle grand kids and "supervise". aka eat and then wait til it's cleaned up. I shouldn't say that. Betty and my SIL always jump in to help clean up.

Take care,
Mike

My mode:

You are crying in the corner, overwhelmed by the holiday and the cruise,
hoping if, you wriggle your nose, it will magically get done.

Here's why. When I return to Orlando on Friday night at midnight, I will have been out of town for a total of 27 days.

On Saturday morning we are driving up to the in-laws' house to exchange Christmas gifts. Then we will drive up to my parents' house in the panhandle for Christmas.

We'll stay at my parents' house until 12/28 when we'll drive back home to Orlando.

On 12/29 we will drive down to Boca Raton where we will stay the night before the cruise.

So, sometime in the three free hours I have on the evening of 12/28, I will have to do all my cruise packing. I really hope I don't forget anything!!!! Do you blame me for feeling overwhelmed now?

Cheers,
Michelle P.

Okay, I've gone from sort of a list in my head to actually taking stuff to the cleaners last night so we're making progress.....and of course I could be doing something about it right now but my 17 year old son and I are way too busy watching Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer to even consider doing anything else.
Michelle, I don't envy you your schedule at all!
