Default The Mall person got me!!!

There we were, walking the mall, minding our own business, when this gal asked us if we wanted to see a demo of a steam iron she was selling. WELL I must say, we were purdy darned impressed! She took a tshirt that was all tied up in a knot, put a little water in the iron and POOF! Steamed all of the wrinkles away in a matter of minutes!

Since I've only ONCE used the laundry room on a ship for washing & ironing, I swore I would NEVER do it again, we purchased it! Just tried it out yesterday, and at first, no steam would come out! Checked out the trouble shooting section of their website, and under our specific problem, it said be sure to put SALT in it for the first use of the day! Well, she didn't do that during the demo, so neither did I...but after following the instructions (DOH!), it worked like a charm!

Nice to be able to find something that will be incredibly useful after unpacking wrinkled clothes! Has anyone else used these mahhhvelous things??

wash & iron is a 4 letter word in my book. don't do either.
I take all the clothes that need to be washed & ironed to the cleaners.
I only do laundry that is to be folded, tee shirts, underwear, socks.

I used an iron once--- and my husband had to get out the video camera and say what is that foregin object in your mothers hand-------never again
I do have to laugh because my son asked for an iron and ironing board for Christmas a few years ago------
I'm with you Carole---that iron is a four letter word---- wrinkle free spray works great------
Cheers

Default The Mall Person Got Me

What's the brand name and where did you get it, Jean?

I think ironing is a four-lettter word, too, but I gotta do it. You should see the pile that awaits me! I can't stand to look like a walking laundry bag.

I almost bought a steamer to take on this last cruise and now wish I had.

It's called italstream and I got it at the Northridge Mall here in Southern Calif. Not sure where exactly you are, Judy, but if you're in the valley, you might know where it is. I'll send you a personal message with the web addr since I don't think I can post it on here. It's looks like it will be a great addition to our cruising vacations! And it's very portable. Also, we first weren't interested, but amazing how the price drops a bit if you start to walk away.. Just don't forget to put the salt in it like we did, since she didn't point that out in her demonstration...

...and I'm sure someone is probably going to ask, and the answer is no, I do not sell this item or get any sort of benefit...just found something that I thought was NEAT and would make a vacation more enjoyable and relaxing..

Doing laundry on vacation should be a CRIME!!!

We (well Mrs. Kuki) has been using a travel steamer for years!

For cruising they're the best things since sliced dear

I can actually iron if I have to but I am not allowed to pack. I packed two items for the Century cruise and boy did I get in trouble. They looked like raisins.

A travel steamer works great as does the iron in the hotel room the night before the cruise. I had to use that on the shirt I packed for Lombardi's. I actually ironed it myself.

It is nice that technology is out there to make life easier but I've found nothing works better than the good old steam iron or travel steamer.

Take care,
Mike
