Default HELP!!- Your TOP Romantic Moments at Sea

I'm working on an article.. Top Romantic Moments at Sea

and I'd like help from ALL of you!

Think back and tell me about your top romantic moments and share them with us.

Sure sometimes it's the expected things like watching gorgeous sunsets from your balcony. But there's also those moments when one of you does something silly, laughter breaks out, and somehow that creates a special bond and turns into a romantic moment.

I'd love to hear them all.... but understand you may end up quoted

My wife and I have our own Sail Away ritual. We pop the cork of a bottle of champagne and a bottle of Asti or other, muscat grape, sparkling wine. My wife enjoys very sweet sparkling wine. Whatever she likes is fine with me. This takes place on our balcony or inside the cabin.

This is our romantic ritual and "The Official" start of our cruise. The first drink is always topped off with a kiss.

There are other rituals but I can't write about them.

BTW: Don't order the "House" champagne on NCL.

Take care,
Mike

My husband and I like to get up very early in the morning, put on our robes and go out and sit on the veranda together and hold hands. It's so very very quiet.

We especially feel romantic when we are slowly pulling into a Port early in the morning and the sun is just coming up...it feels cool and warm all at the same time...its so exciting to be together getting ready for another adventure. The begining of a day holds so much promise and we're going to share it together.

I remember once, on a Carnival ship (sorry, can't remember which one) we managed to go out to the hot tubs late in the evening (open till 11) and just the 2 of us sitting there in the hot tub, soaking, relaxing, looking up at the stars - magical! This is what cruising is all about!

Ah, how could I ever forget it?

It was our first cruise, one of the first evenings. We had an outside room, which in those days meant we had a porthole just above the waterline to watch the world pass by.

We had just left St. Lucia. My freshly-showered wife had just exited the bathroom with nothing but a towel. She looked particularly attractive, and I began to demonstrate my approval.

Suddenly, I felt like we were not alone. I looked up and there outside the porthole was the pilot boat running alongside, with the newly disembarked pilot and another crewman smiling and waving at us.

It would be fair to call that a mood-breaker.

This is not a real cruise story. Since I am alone I have no romantic moments on a cruise ship. However it does involve a boat, a lake and 4th of July. I was seeing a gent from Laconia NH. He had a cabin cruiser on Lake Winnipesaukee in NH. It was the third of July. We had been out in the boat all day it was late and we decided to go to Weirs Beach for their midnight fireworks display How wonderful it was to sit there gently bobbing in the water and watching the beautiful fireworks exploding in the sky right over head. That summer Weirs Beach had fireworks every Sunday night. So there we were every week enjoying the displays. Nice, quiet and romantic.

Oh Kuki I am sooo not going there. But to keep it PG13, our cruise romance usually starts before we even leave the house, as the anticipation and excitement of going on a cruise gets the party started.

David and I have two:

One very late evening in St. Petersburg, Russia we were fortunate enough to experience the "white nights." (It only happens a few days each year.) We went for a walk after a late seating dinner on the promenade deck. We then viewed the amazing splendor of a magnificent pearlescent glow everywhere in the sky. It was an amazing sight neither of us will ever forget. Words do not describe the beauty of the white nights. One might say we "got lucky" that night.

Our first time in South America the captain of the Celebrity Zenith announced that the Southern Cross could be viewed from an open deck on the bow of the ship. The skies were the clearest I have ever seen and this constellation was a most inspiring sight.

On our cruise on the Rhapsody of the Seas, my DH decided to buy me flowers off the flower cart. He NEVER buys me flowers (the romantic that he is ) but he knows that I like them. The problem was, he couldn't find me, so he was walking all around the atrium, looking for me, carrying this beautiful vase of flowers. Finally the singer stopped singing and asked him if he was looking for somebody. He said yes, so she assisted him by paging me through the microphone (I was 4 decks above). I came down and she played a special song just for us to dance to. It doesn't top AR's story (HAHAHA) but it certainly stands out in my memory.

The other memory was when he asked me how much it cost to pay for airfare, hotel, car rental, our cruise, our DS and DIL cruise, all of use upgraded to connected junior suites. We were standing out on our balcony, enjoying the cruise. I just smiled, shook my head, and said "Nuh uh." That was just too much information. I finally told him and he didn't say a word. What a love.

When hubby & I found a secret door that let out to the front of the ship. We sat there with our drinks gazing at the ocean which stretched out before us, and sat there cuddling, all alone, in the romantic moonlight....

Three years ago, on board the Costa Mediterranea, my wife and I really splurged and had gotten an aft suite with a good size balcony.

We had ordered room service, lit some candles and enjoyed a very nice supper of lobster tail with a bit of bubbly followed with a few chocolate covered strawberries. We relaxed for a while on the balcony under a sky of a million stars.

We had a Righteous Brothers' CD which we inserted in the machine. When they sang the song; "Unchanges Melody"....

"Oh, my love, my darling,
I've hungered for your touch,
A long, lonely time
And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love, I need your love
God speed your love"

We decide to slow waltz, belly to belly, on the balcony.

After the Righteous Brothers finished that song, my wife suggested I take a mattress from the bed and put it on the balcony. I didn't have to be asked twice. She said she wanted to slip into something more comfortable and went into the bathroom to change.

I removed the blanket from the bed and dragged the mattress on the balcony.

I than put the lights out and got ready for an evening of heavenly bliss. The only light we had was from the moon. When my wife appeared in a very skimpy red see-thru negligée, she came and laid down by my side.

Than, the phone rang and I woke up. My wife called to tell me that the bingo game was over and she was going to the Casino. It was like three o'clock in the afternoon.

Kuki, what else would you expect from a Maritimer?

Bill

I am having trouble picking out our most romantic moment. We have felt like we were on borrowed time, since we started cruising, so much of our time has been romantic.

Our romance has always included laughter. I will never forget the "new "cabin steward" Who pushed our twin beds together instead of making them up as one big bed, and me falling through the crack. Jim saying "I'll get maintenance, and me saying "No you won't" I was stuck!! The first time we had a moment to ourselves on our first cruise. We were sitting by ourselves at a little table on the Ecstasy. To us there was no one on the ship but us. Our fingers were entwined, and the sun was setting behind him, and he tells me "well baby, welcome to your cruise" The time he got the drink of the day, and me tasting it, for the first time, when I kissed him. Darn Kuki all of this lead up to **** I hope that doesn't mean mud wrestling. I might not be understanding you.

Unlike BW and his dreams, we have had some very nice times on the balcony. The moon was shinning on the water, the ships lights illuminated the water around us. He told me how much he loved me. We thanked each other for finding the other, and for bringing so much laughter and love to our lives. We kissed, we hugged, we shared a drink, we talked about how warm and inviting the water was. At that point it was time.... You know Kuki the mud wrestling part, a small rouge wave hit the ship, and soaked us to the skin.

Then there was the time, in fact this last cruise. We were again on the balcony, and much of the romance of above went on, but this time he confirmed what I had suspected. He was again going back to Iraq. With our tears, were words of love. Words of dedication to each other, and as we kissed, the man in the next balcony began to sing, "We've only Just begun." It was very light. barely heard, but it was there. AS he finished, I thanked him, again very softly, and he said God Bless you, and your husband. There is your romance story. Oh heck Kuki, we mud wrestled that night too. I can't think of one

I'm telling you Kuki.........NO ONE can top Luanne's romance story....I been checking out some literature and I've been trying to imagine romantic situations and I can't come up with anything better than this.

Maybe you need to change the article to Funny Cruise Stories or
My Most Embarassing Cruise Story. Nah, she might win those too!

Okay Tim, Let's work with it.......

Tim's Romantic Cruise
as told to Melody Still

In the months prior to our last cruise my thoughts often wandered to the day I married my beautiful wife. It was a glorious day! She looked like an angel walking toward me.

In the years since our marriage, this wonderful woman has endured countless dance classes with me. She also graciously allows the women in attendance to dance with her man. When I finally return to her arms, I realize just how lucky I am.

I've often wondered how I could let the world know of my passion for the partner God brought into my life. Then one day it hit me. I put my plan into action. I wasn't sure when, but I knew the world would know I loved this woman more than life itself.

We were on a cruise celebrating our tenth anniversary. As I stared at this lovely vision sitting across the table from me, my hand slipped into my pocket. I felt it. I had been carrying it with me so long, I had almost forgotten about it. I rose from the table and walked to her. I opened a jewelry box as I lowered to one knee.

Her smile was all the encouragement I needed. The tears in her eyes filled my heart. Right there, in front of hundreds of complete strangers, I professed my love to the only woman in my life. I asked her if she would once again recite the vows that bound us together.

The next day she walked toward me and ten years seemed to melt away. There she was, looking as lovely as she did on our wedding day. When we finished our vows, I placed the ring she deserved on her finger and swept her into my arms for a slow, passionate kiss. She went weak in my arms. It was then I knew how much she loved me too!

THE END

I bet this is exactly how it went, but as a guy, you tend to leave out the details that make it romantic!

I TOLD YOU I'VE BEEN READING!

Melody
