Default Thursday - Ground Hog Day Eve

Good Morning Folks!!!! Last nite Marj's daughter MikaLyn got to experience the pain of a bad commute home from NYC when both of our busses got caught in a 15 mile backup due to an accident, which made us about an hour late getting home. She was on a school trip to see a taping of the Montel Williams show.

Will Phil see his shadow tomorrow? I think so and hello six more weeks of winter.

Have a great day!!!!!

Good morning from Orlando where it'll feel more like winter in Florida today as we get up to 80. It's good to keep the tourists happy.
Our son found out yesterday that he made the National Honor Society. We're very proud of him. He's been accepted at Florida State and is still waiting to hear from Univ. of Georgia.
Have a great day mates!

Good morning all.

Just sitting here waiting to get the call that my brother Bob is in town. Then I'll join him for breakfast, and we'll go play cards with the ladies. Our usual Thursday adventures.

Angela, that is wonderful news about your son. You must be very proud parents. Congratulations to him. Takes a lot of work and effort to achieve that.

Have a good one all.

Good Mroning All,

I bit warmer today - 9 above! and light snow. DD just called from her university in TN - they have about an inch and a snow day has been called as sleet and freezing rain are also predicted. She has gone out to play in it before it melts. There was no snow at Christmas for them to play in.

Off to work. Didn't get much done yesterday, lots of interruptions. Looks like I'll have to go in on Friday this week, I usually get to work from home on that day. Have to leave early again today, a friend needs me to babysit here 2.5 year old for a couple hours. It is been a mighty long time since I've spent that amount of time with one that age, and I'm not sure I'm up to the task. Pretty sure it will wipe me out. Oh, well.

Angela - congratulations for you son. It is a great accomplishment.

Doug - sorry about the long commute. Not sure I could get used to that.

Hope you all have a great day.

Good Morning from Central Texas where it is a cool 39 and rain. Some sleet on the way to work yesterday. Soon cleared up, so not to bad.

Today I am teaching what is called Target. I pull different kids from the 4th grade for extra assistance.

Gotta go.... take care

Good morning all.

We're facing the possibility of a Transit strike. Looks like I'll have to car pool with some commuters. I hope not, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning All, from Montreal, where it is a bit milder at -11, and it's snowing!

Doug, I'm so glad I don't commute by road. The train is 17 mins. and almost always on time!

MissKMM, oh no! I would be sunk with a transit strike!

Jen, good luck with the 2 yr old! Take plenty of stories to read!

Angela, tell Jimmy congratulations, that is indeed an honour!

As fro Mr. Groundhog, I'm sure there'll be 6 more weeks of winter here....

Morning, all
Just another day in paradise, here. Well, maybe not. I'm getting a haircut this monring and then I'm off to the Skilled Nursing Facility to see my MIL. She has been, pretty much, in a complete state of confusion since Tuesday. My DS saw her last night and said that only about 5% of the conversation had any semblance of normalcy. It is so hard to deal with. Also she had only slept about 2 hours in the last 48. I sure wish I had some answers.

Angela, tell your son congratulations -- what an honor.

Good Morning same old thing today at work. Birthday party for my MIL went well she turned 60. I got my booking information for the 3 CCC 8) still excited even with it being more than 1 year away I just like the feeling of having a cruise planned.

Doug: this is what happens when you let a giant rat predict the weather. Has he ever not seen his shadow. We need a blind groundhog.

Angela: Congratulations on your son's achievement. I hope he gets into Univ. of Georgia.

Phyllbo: tell your brother Sherry says hi that will confuse him. Tell him we went to high school together.

VTJen: sounds cold good luck babysitting a 2.5 year old.

Luanne: are you teaching kids to shop at Target?

MissKMM and RD: transit strikes are the worst hope it doesn't happen.

Ready2gonow: I hope your MIL starts to feel better and gets some sleep. I know 2 hours of sleep in 48 hours and I won't be able to hold a normal conversation either.

Morning all,,

Sitting here waiting on the winter storm to hit. Have been under warnings all a.m.,,,,but nothing yet,,,,holding my breath. This place gets paralized when we get snow/sleet/freezing rain. Some of the schools have closed in the anticipation of it all. Honest
Just hope "they" missed the prediction !!!

Things have been really slow around here business wise,,,I should be on a cruise. This is usually our week to be gone,,,but seeing as we went on the Century New years I'm sitting here wishing I was gone now. If that weather hits I'll really cry,,,

Hope everyone has a great Thursday,,,and stay warm/safe.

Good Morning cruisemates! Cold snap hit Calgary. Highs just below 0 F, and snow and blowing snow. Not a pleasant day!!

Good news is I did a bunch of running around yesterday, so at least until this evening I can just stay indoors.

Talked to my folks in Phoenix last night, and they sounded kind of down about the death of my aunt (my father's sister in law). I was so tempted to tell them we were coming down for a visit next week, to give them a lift... but I bit my lip.

Default Thursday - Ground Hog Day Eve

Good morning from a cold, dreary Southern California. No rain but no sun either.

Anybody out there following the Academy Awards? I'm not, but my decorator and his wife are avid movie fans. So it's no surrprise that they've seen three of the five nominees. He said that "The Departed" is nothing but wholesale violence. Not just shootings but really awful deaths. They really liked "Little Miss Sunshine."

Have a good day, and keep warm!

Good morning from the beautiful Pacific Northwest!

Another sunny, warm day up here. The rain that was forecast for Sunday has disappeared, and it should be beautiful for the next 10 days.

Speaking of haircuts, mine is on tap for today.

Doug, for some reason, I've not been able to see your daily photos in your post. And I know it's not me, because I can see Ray's sunset photos every day. Any ideas?

Have a good one, 'mates!
