...
Not surprising since the BOTTOM line... considering the SC means a balcony cabin for 7 days for $650... or an inside cabin for $409!!

ALL of Texas and neighboring states should be booking this one

I'm the first one to book!

Just got off the phone with Nancy and we are booked. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all will work out with my MIL, but I'm sure I can make it happen (somehow!).

C'mon, guys. Don't make me sail alone!

I just talked 2 Nancy also... although we r not booked YET... we are seriously considering it. With my 2 surgeries pending & my sons surgery after that... we just dont know what September has in store for us.

Oddly enough... it is leaving on MY birthday - as cool as that is... I wish it wasnt hurricane season !!

Will let u know after family conference 2nite.. may be we book it to save a spot & cancel if health issues dont permit going... of course we would get the insurance... if we HAVE to cancel due to health, is it COMPLETELY refundable ?

Take Care,
Steph

Steph..

HOPE it does work out for you. It would be a GREAT birthday present, and a nice celebration of recoveries, if the surgeries go well.

If you book, get THIRD Party insurance within 14 days of booking, and it'll cover all pre-existing conditions, and if you have to cancel you'll get a full refund (other than the cost of the insurance, which based on cruise cost, would only be @ $50 -60 person).

Thanks for the reminder, Kuki! I had forgotten about the need to get the insurance now.

I'm not allowed to take vacation time in Sept. especially the 1st week of school! So it's a no-go for us. Too bad, I really want to do another CM cruise!

Yee-Haw!! What a BIG Texas BARGAIN!! I'd be speed dialing to book my cabin if I didn't have a new grandbaby due on 9/5. If that baby decides to make either an early or late arrival however, you can BET your BOOTS that I'll be in Galveston for the Pre-Cruise party that I'm sure you'll be having. Sure wish I could go!

This one is "taking off" very nicely!!

Just remember, you don't have to be from Texas to join the fun!!
It's a great price for everyone.

Good questions Sharon I'm not familiar with Galveston cruises, but hopefully someone will jump in with the answers before I come back with them.

BTW.. our dear Donna is going to be hosting this group, so everyone gets a much prettier face to stare at.

You can fly into either of the TWO airports in Houston.

IAH is Bush Intercontinental and is on the far north side of Houston. That will put you about 1 1/2 hours away.

HOB is William B. Hobby and it is on the south side of Houston and is about 45 minutes away.

Galveston Limosine can shuttle you back and forth or, of course, you can rent a car. If you are planning on coming in early, get a place in Galveston and enjoy it.

Galveston is a FUN town! You have the waterfront with the pier adjacent to the historic "Strand" where you can stroll, shop and eat. On the other side of the island (the cruise terminal is located on Galveston Island), is the ocean with the seawall, lined with hotels and restaurants and shops. Check out this link for logistics info, Galveston attractions, etc: http://www.galveston.com/cruising/

NOW I'm tempted. She's much more appealing to the eyes than moose.

Dang! Im sailing the Med that week! Great price, great port. Galveston is one of my favorite domestic ports to sail from.

Can we do this again, say in the spring of '08?

Wow, Kuki, that sounds really tempting! We're already booked for the Western Caribbean on the Mariner of the Seas on 9/23/07. Hmmm... maybe a change is in order??!! I'll have to talk to Jose. The draw of the Mariner, though, is visiting my brother, who lives near Port Canaveral, pre-cruise.

Jen.. nice to see you posting! Hope both you and Jose are doing great.

A Galveston cruise would at least be a short trip for you two. Nice group going so far and sure it will build. Hope it works out for you.
