Don't forget... the daylight savings time goes into effect on March 11,2007
Set your clocks forward one hour.
Hurray, more time for the beach, cookouts and long walks.
This is actually causing problems with older computer systems. If you are running Windows 95, 98, Windows Millennium, 2000 or do not have Automatic Update turned enabled on your XP SP1 or SP2 editions you should do it. Otherwise you will set the time on your PC ahead on March 11 and then will set it ahead an hour in April.
Turn on "Automatic Updates" if you don't have them already on for Windows XP systems. If you are running Windows Vista there is no problem.
Another way to get around it is to use "Internet Time" on your PC clock. Only available on Windows 2000 and later.
Use one of the .gov sites to synchronize your PC clock.
If you're still running Windows 95 or 98 you will need to do it manually. "or buy a new computer" "
Take care,
Mike

Carole, would you please come change all my clocks and electronic equipment? You would have to remind me! I was trying to not think about it. I admit, I also like it, though, once the adjustment made!

If you have "Automatic Updates" turned on you should be OK. Also if you have your PC clock set to take it's time from the Internet you should also be OK.
In your case I think you're OK.
Take care,
Mike

Mike - would I be correct in gathering that Automatic Updates means that EVERYTHING that Microsoft wants to update will be updated cuz I don't want to go to Service Pack 2 which will make some of my programs unworkable???
Currently I get notices that updates are available and then I get to decide if I want to update them or not.

You know, one of these days, somebody is going to come up with a bullet-proof system. A system which is easy-to-use, safe and secure, and takes care of itself.
Oh wait -- somebody already has. It's called a Mac..........

Cruznut: Set your Automatic updates for "Critical Updates" and you will be fine. It will not force you to go to SP2. I do not understand why going to SP2 will make some of your software unworkable unless you are running pirated or cracked software. Then again I always knew there was a bit of the pirate in you. Arrrrgh.

Dean: IMO I have worked with MAC's for many many years and still do and they blow an Intel or Microsoft based system away in terms of graphics, music downloading and basic user interface (simple to use) but when it comes to networking, using the Internet for more than just simple surfing they basically are a piece of crap and actually have far more problems than a Microsoft based system. I have colleagues that still pull their hair out fixing Mac problems with people who try to use them for running Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and their browser. This is the main reason you don't see them in office environments.
While they don't have the virus problems of PC's they are now becoming the targets of more and more virus' and many of the other problems of Microsoft systems. The changes in MAC OS is adopting the same code as IE. Older MAC systems run IE and some of the newer systems still do in order to make up for the problems that are encountered with MAC OS.
Regardless, for people who like to do basic surfing and download music and pictures it's a good system but if something goes wrong you are in trouble because Apple won't even fix it, good luck finding someone who can and things go wrong a lot more than their advertising says it does.
Microsoft could put me on one of their commercials and I would say that I never get a virus and rarely have a hardware problem and Macs are inferior products. I wouldn't be lying. It's all in the perspective.
Take care,

Okay, good buddy (that's back to my CB talk ) , what the heck is "cracked" software?
Thanks for the tip - will do!
Me - a pirate ... no way - though I might have loaned some programs to my friends!
As to not wanting SP2 - cuz of warnings in PC World and other areas that it wouldn't work (backward compatible) for some of my programs that was enough for me. I don't want to be forced to do stuff by MS. The reviews on Vista aren't thrilling me either. Fortunately, I'm hoping this 'puter will hold up much longer. So far so good!
