Default The loss of our beloved pet

Yesterday we had to put our beloved dog Honey to sleep. We had her for 13 wonderful, loving years, but time had taken it's toll, and as much as we hated to lose her, we had to make the difficult decision to let her go, as getting around became too much for her. She always loved to go for walks, but that was becoming more and more difficult.

Pets give back so much more than they take. We could not have asked for a more wonderful, loving pet. Her companion Reba also misses her terribly. We were there when she peacefully slipped away. We are also at peace knowing she no longer has any pain. We will miss her always.

Jean, I'm sorry to hear the sad news about your pet. The unconditional love they give to us makes them a special part of the family, and losing them is always hard.

Jean I am so sorry. Pets are indeed very special creatures and I am fond of them. But you did the right thing. I hope the pain will ease in time.

Oh Jean, I am so sorry to hear about Honey. I understand the love you have for your pet, and how hard it is to let them go. Thoughts are with you, and give Reba an extra hug today.

Jean, I'm so sorry about your loss. Pets become such an integral part of your family, there is just a void when you have to let them go. And regardless of how many other pets have come and gone, each one is special in their own way.

So sorry for your loss Jean. We have had several pets over the years and miss each one of them. It is the saddest day when you have to make that decision. We keep a figurine of each one of them on our mantle.

You might find some peace by keeping her "alive" on the web site the rainbow bridge.

Regards,
Thomas

Default The Loss of our Belolved Pet

We had to make that decision about four years ago. I can still see our little Siamese playing on Rainbow Bridge. Please give Reba a scratch behind the ears for me.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words. There is such a loss in our house, but we know it was the right decision to make. It would have only been our own selfishness that would have kept her with us longer.

And thank you for the Rainbow Bridge idea, Thomas. The poem is very beautiful and the website looks very nice, but it's too soon for me to do something like that. I started to tear up as I was looking at it, and just had to close it. Maybe in a few months we can post something for her.

We are having her cremated and put in a cedar box next to our beloved kitty who we lost previously.

Thanks again for all of the kind words.......and I know because the love she showed us, we will be getting another pound puppy eventually....

Jean,

I am so sorry to hear about Honey. You know she will always be with you, in your heart and your memories.

Think about all the fun you had with her.

Take care,
Mike

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your pet. It is a hard decsion to put down an animal I had to put down my cat Grover about 6 months ago he had a tumor. He was doing okay with it for a while. But, finally I realized he was to the point that I was keeping him alive for myself and I couldn't be selfish.

Jean: I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your pet. It is so difficult. We had to make the same hard decision 5 months ago with our beloved Sadie. We only made it 3 months before we added another member to our family. We got another German Shepard puppy and she is such a joy to us. She is a sweet puppy, but I still miss Sadie. It will get easier over time for you....take care of yourself.

Dear Jean,

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet Honey . I know it's hard to let a beloved pet go, but you did the right thing. We've had to do the same thing and it's heartbreaking.

Give Reba a "tummy rub" from me,

Jean,

We had to put our cocker spaniel, Maggie, to sleep right before Thanksgiving and her memory still flashes back at certain moments...while I go on my walks, coming home and expecting to see her waiting for me. I've got 6 kids and you would think that would keep me busy enough, but I sure miss my dog!

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. It's nice to have my unseen "family" on this board! There is an emptiness in the house, but we were so lucky to have such a sweet friend for so long. Thank you all!

Sorry for your loss!

http://rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
