After many years of getting headaches from cologne and perfume, I finally found one that I can wear.....it's Tova Signature ..... by Tova Borgnine sold on QVC.
I second the motion for none at all. Please. None at all.
We have some friends who I love dearly but dread going out with because their perfumes almost make me physically ill. I've refrained from saying anything so far, but I may eventually.
You have no idea how off-putting that stuff can be on some of us. And I know you don't particularly want to hear from a guy, but our opinions count too, as do our comfort levels when we're around you.
Please, have mercy. You will be no less beautiful in our eyes, and we'll be a lot more comfortable. And you'll save a few bucks too.
Estee Lauder's Private Collection, Y.S.L. Opium, Cacharel NOA, Givenchy Extravagance...in that order. But too much of anything is never a good thing. Just a hint of fragrance and that is enough.
This may be a dense reply to this, but is the original poster male or female?
As a male myself, it would be interesting to hear what scent ladies like on a man. (This was my original take on this thread, although, everyone seems to be approaching this as a woman asking other women.)
And my take on how heavily scented we should be, is that the scent should enhance another's experience of us, not overwhelm it. By that I mean that someone would need to be very physically close to us to even be aware of it. A hint of fragrance as you're slow dancing.
Otherwise, you should appear to have no scent at all.

Well, I see I am not the only one who assumed the OR was a woman, but after reading it again.......I think it's a male asking for female opinions. So.....MY suggestion is FOR a female.
AR......I have been plagued with this all of my life, too. My friends.....even new ones are most understanding of the problem and DO go out of their way to acommodate my sensitivities. Well, everyone except my SISTER, who wears the worst smelling designer stuff! Don't be afraid to gently mention this to your friends.......if they really are friends they will gladly assist.
Notice how TV commercials encouraged us to buy perfumed sprays for the inside of our homes, our closets, our furniture and less we forget, even for our most personal persons.
Then, to be sure that every breath we take is perfumed, powdered and as unnatural as possible, we are encouraged to spray our dogs, cats and even when possible, the outside air is surrounded with scented candles.
Think of the reality of walking into a room when everyone is wearing their special brand of perfume or aftershave…you don’t smell just ONE perfume or aftershave…but ALL of them ALL at once…each fragrant fighting for your attention. The result for some, like myself, is an overwhelming headache.
How ‘bout just smelling CLEAN for a change? You know, the human body when clean has it’s own unique fragrant…and it can be very nice too.
And by the way, air, fresh clean air untouched by perfume, Febreze or scented candles can be real treat too!

My thoughts exactly! I used to use all kinds of cleaners, sprays, candles, etc., and I was always "stuffed up". I quit using all these things and I can breathe!
My favorite cologne (which I use very sparingly) is Chantilly. If someone says how "good" I smell, and they're not in my "space", I've got too much on!

Since every fragrance smells different on everybody because of body chemisty its really a matter of trial and error.
I prefer clean crisp scents, nothing to overpowering.
DH smells wonderful in a classic fragrance Aramis by Estee Lauder. He also smells yummy wearing Sebastain by Paul Sebastain
For a man i think that after shave or after shave balm is all that is needed.
Your fragrance shouldn't enter the room before you do, fragrance should be experienced up close and personal.
