Guaranteed cabins

Does anyone know when Carnival assigns cabins to those who booked "guaranteed" rooms?

I checked Travelocity and my cruise is just about sold out and we don't have cabin assignment. They are holding a cabin for me....right?

For cabin assignments it can take up to and including your arrival at the pier.

But you can have your agent start checking to see if its been assigned yet about 30 days prior.

Does Travelocity have a certain number of cabins that it can sell like it does for airlines? For instance, Travelocity can claim an airplane is full, but other sites and the airlines itself might still be selling tickets for it.

But we got our room assignment when they sent us our final paperwork.
