As is usual, this week's LOST! episode answered one question and raised 10 more. At the rate it's going, it will be 20 years before we get all the questions answered..........
We now know how Locke ended up in a wheelchair. I never really cared how he ended up in the chair -- it was enough for me that he was in one.
Of course, one of the 10 new questions is, how did the "Others" locate Locke's dad, and bring him to the island? Did they do it as a bargaining chip with Locke?
Why did Locke destroy the submarine -- the only transportation off the island that we know of? In a war of attrition, you want to relieve the enemy of his assets, so perhaps that's why.
The island seems to have healing properties, so why is it that Ben is not being healed? Is it because he was born there?
Anyway, another frustrating episode in a series of frustrating episodes.........
Locke's father was not brought top the island by the others he was brought by Locke. Locke has special powers even he is not aware of.
Locke destroyed the sub because he does not want to or is afraid to leave the island because he may never walk again.
There are some on the island that become healed of their ills and others that do not. This is one of the projects that was being investigated by the Darhama Institute.

I don't have much to add in terms of the theories surrounding the show, but
I must say, after being thoroughly engrossed in Season 1, then being utterly disappointed by Season 2, I'm finally starting to feel like the show is coming around again. The past few episodes have been pretty satisfying, and if they keep it up, they may just win me back with a new fervor.

I was out at Pilates tonight, so walked in in the middle of tonight's episode. First person I saw was Arnt, talking to Nikki about poisonous spiders. I thought "doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo" Twilight Zone moment, wasn't he killed by dynamite last season? Totally confused, until I watched the whole episode again later on ABC. I'm still confused, but the plot certainly thickens doesn't it?
I haven't seen tonight's episode, as it doesn't air for another hour.
But one thing that strikes me, is that the "Others" have tremendous access to the outside world.
They apparently have complete biographies of all the castaways, they have the resources to track down and deliver to the island Locke's dad. They keep up on current events, even showing Jack video of the World Series.
Many, many people in the outside world know of this island, know of the "Others", and know of the castaways.
Another of the many questions LOST! raises, is since so many know of the crash and the survivors, why is no one willing to help? And why is no one wanting to rescue them?
