Am I the first one up? It's early for me on a Saturday, but I have to take Emma to the groomers early today for her spring "beautification". Poor dog, last night I had to drag her to the vet to treat a raging ear infection, and she is traumatized every time we go there.
She will feel better later today when she has a visit from our granddaughter. They adore each other and get along well, even sharing their toys!
As for me, I have a morning full of errands to do and some house cleaning to catch up on, so I'd better get a move on. Have a good weekend everyone!
I'm up....actually didn't sleep all night.... We're leaving for the Liberty in about 1 hour and soooooooo excited... This is a gr8t Saturday morning!!!
Good morning RD, Elaine, VTJen and all the CM's to follow.
RD, poor Emma, I hope she feels better soon. My sweet puppy has been so good with me since I've been sick. It is like she senses that I do no feel well and she seems very concerned. I know that sounds strange...but it is very true.
Elaine....Bon Voyage! Have a wonderful cruise.
VTJen...enjoy whatever you decide to do today.
I am afraid my day will be spent on the couch. This flu has really knocked it out of me. I cannot remember being this sick. I sure hope it is on it's way out. I should be doing my taxes today...but I don't think I feel up to that. I hope you all have a great day.

Good Morning from Central Texas where it is a beautiful spring day.
The storms yesterday were whoppers. One of the tornadoes formed over our little area, and poured 6 inches of rain on us, in a very short amount of time.
We don't have any damage, but the creek behind our house was way over the banks, and took out several small bridges.
Joe was at play practice at school, and was stuck because of the high water. They did what any group of teens would do, they asked for pizza from the Cafeteria. Because some of the late working employees were stuck as well, their wish was granted.
Ya gotta love Texas.
Because today is almost tomorrow in Iraq, hubby is getting ready for his plane trip home. Poor thing has to see the world, before making it here. I count 5 stops, and those are the planned ones.
Gee: We have a sick doggie and a sick Mary Lou. I think a good dose of Otomax will take care of Emma but Mary Lou you just cuddle the puppy and take care of yourself!!!
Elaine: HAVE A GREAT CRUISE!!!!!
Jen: I hope you get your paperwork finished.
Donna: Retriever's and Lab's ears are a pain. They are prone to infections, ear mites and other "stuff" and have to be kept clean. We wash out Kramer's each week. You gotta go fairly deep. They have a natural defense mechanism to close their ears so it's hard to get in there. People are worried about hurting them but have your vet (if they "really" know how to do it.) show you how to clean Emma's ears and do it on a regular basis. Wiping out the outer part isn't enough. It's hard to hurt the ear drum, with a standard cleaning, because of the shape of a dogs ear canal. She'll love you for it.
Take care,
Mike

Good morning all!!! Isabelle, our Shih Tzu, is headed to the beauty parlor also. She adores the groomer and gets very excited when she sees her.
I went to the eye doctor today and he put me in bifocal contact lenses. They are amazing!!! No more of those pesky readers. I will miss staring disapprovingly over them when someone comes up with a stupid idea during a meeting.
Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Good morning from Southern California. A warm sunny day on tap here.
Donna, I hope Emma feels better soon.
Mary Lou, I hope you feel better soon, as well.
Keith says, "Mornin', Mike."
Doug, now people will get "the look" more directly!
Not only the dogs get to go to the groomers today. I'm getting a haircut, too. Got my car back yesterday, so a trip to Newport Beach is in order so that Keith can have his favorite lunch at Cafe R and D.
One ball game down (lost) and one to go this afternoon..........That is how my Saturday's are spent. Local racing season has started so off to the dirt track races tonight. That's always interesting NOW it is time to clean my house.

Mike, Emma has gone beyond Otomax. Apparently I have overused the Otomax with her chronic ear problems, and she has a more serious infection that is resistant to Otomax. Or so they tried to tell me, to sell me a $63 bottle of Surolan antibiotic ear drops! Not to mention the $26 charge for an ear cleaning, that should have been included in the $51 charge for the visit. Add on the colitis antibiotic (3 month supply) and the cytology test at $26, to identify the ear problem, the whole bill came to $240.!! Plus today's $55 charge for grooming, it's been an expensive weekend for Emma!
RD, I hope Emma feels better after all her tender loving care this weekend.
ML, sorry to hear that you are laid up with the flu. I hope and pray that you kick it in time to enjoy some of the weekend.
Luanne, your countdown calendar is getting really short! I'm excited that he is on his way, and I know that doesn't even compare to what you must be feeling.
