Default Football Related Ricky Williams

I saw a report earlier this morning about the running back Ricky Williams. The former University of Texas All-American and current Miami Dolphin has been fulfilling the terms of his suspension for violating the league's substance abuse clause. Seems Mr. Williams had been smoking a bit of marijuana and was tested soon afterwards and the test was positive. Now, Williams is wanting to return to football when his suspension is up later this month. The funny part.... and I am serious when I write this and it is true.... His home city is... GRASS CITY, Ca.

I hope none of the teams feels the need to hire Mr. Williams. He had many chances to get his self clean, and failed many tests. He knew from High School that drugs should not be in his future. He decided it did not apply to him. I have students who look up to these players. If Ricky can do it, so can I. There are very few spots to fill in the NFL. I think those spots should be filled with drug free players.

I still have a hard time grasping the concept that weed is more important than your multi-million dollar contract that pays your bills, your child's diapers and clothes... I just don't get it.

Then he whines that he never liked football anyway. ??!! Bizarre.

When he was interviewed on 60 Minutes before last season, he was living in a tent somewhere, trying to "find" himself.

He just doesn't strike me as a guy who really understands that actions have consequences.

Ricky Williams, didn't he play for the Saints at one point?

Some people are idiots! I just can't believe there are bigger idiots who are willing to pay the first idiots millions of dollars to be an idiot.

Often times, people with a mental disorder will self-medicate with alcohol or illegal drugs. The fact that a person is living in a tent and trying to "find" themselves, although bizzare to us, seems rational to them. Using an illegal substance and choosing it over potential millions of dollars is not that bizzare to a person who is not able to think clearly.

No he should not play football. He should surround himself with people who care about him, and not his money.
