Default Going South

Hi CruiseMates, Lately I have not been around much to post. I have been trying to get ready to move to Florida. I drop in every day and try to read but have not been posting as much. So far I have applied for a few jobs in the Lakeland area. Looking for a place to live also. Last night I gathered the family I work for together and gave notice. We had a great Chinese dinner together. The evening was fun and very emotional for me. I look forward to my new life where it is warm and there is NO SNOW!!! Mostly I look forward to the chance to meet so many of our Florida members. Notice is given for the end of May. I hope to be in Florida by mid June.

Laura

Hooray! I hope you get settled quickly and watch out for Rescue and MS Blackjack. Those are two very shady characters...

Good for you. I will check my work schedule and see when I'm in the Tilton area so we could meet for lunch.

Laura,

You are moving to one of my favorite states! There are plenty of Cruisemates there who will be willing to help you "pass a good time"! I sometimes think I could live in a tent, just as long as I'm on a beach....then reality sets in! Good luck on finding just the right place to live and the perfect people to work with!

welcome welcome and mehawk: "Hey, I resemble that comment"

Lakeland area: I have been tempted to move to Lakeland when I get frustrated with our traffic, very very pretty out there and growing fast.

who is not too far from my brother in Venice .

so that's good you will have some family nearby - but not tooo close.... well if its any consolation, it is a "buyer's market" and a "renter's market" in Flroida right now; the market is saturated with housing for sale and for rent; the deals on rentals are truly amazing - in the past it was hard to find clean rental homes in decent neighborhoods, now there are literally at least 1/2 dozen for rent signs on every street.

Laura, I'm glad that you are finally able to relocate to the warmer state of Florida! I know that there is a job with "your name" all over it, just waiting for you! Good luck!

Laura,

You know that you are always welcome to Florida. We hope that the move will be smooth as silk.

We here in the Central Florida area wish you the best in finding a suitable and confortable home to move into.

And we will be welcoming you to our Occosionaly Lunch or Dinner get together. Lakeland is only about an hour to the Orlando Area and we will be announcing the shindig shortly. You will have many Cruisers and Cruisemates living here and we all enjoy our meets. Just keep tuned to here to find out the when, where, time etc and be on time.

Ken lives in the Lakeland area and can steer you in the right directions.

Hello Laura:
Glad to hear you're coming to beautiful Lakeland! I sent you a P.M., but apparently you didn't get it, as I never heard back from you. You should be able to find a good place to live here, as it is a buyers, or renters market now. Keep in touch, and if there is anything we can do, just give us a shout.

Ken

P.S. We'll be aboard the "Liberty" next week, so if you don't hear from us for a few days, you'll understand.

Wow!!! thank you for all the wonderful comments. It makes it easier for me to do this. I am a lot nervous since I am alone and starting over is hard even when you have someone to lean on. I lived in lakeland many years ago. I bet it is much changed. Steph, I am leaving a state that has no state income or sales tax. Yes, I will say hello to Patty. She is the hardest part about leaving NH. I have to leave her behind.

Laura

Hi Laura,

I've been following your "moving saga" on another board. I'm so glad to hear that it's really going to happen!

I don't think you'll have any problems finding a good job with your resume'.

I know you'll hate to leave Patty, but it sounds like she's happy where she is .

I'm sure you'll love Florida! No SNOW!

I hope that next time we sail from Florida we can meet you (and all the other Floridian's ).
