Hugh Downs as guest speaker - Seabourn Spirit Vietnam Cruise
I was just reading the article about Hugh Downs being a guest speaker on an upcoming Seabourn cruise. It made me wonder if there is anyone hosting or guest speaking on a cruise that I would absolutely HAVE to cruise with (other than our very own Kuki, of course). Or in other words, if I heard that someone I really love is hosting a cruise, would I go out of my way to book that cruise for that reason???? Hmmmmm, I'm not sure.

I think that if I were researching a cruise, and it came down to this cruise or that, a guest speaker could make a difference.

Sorry Hugh (and he lives here in my home town), but I'm not so sure you would be the one who would do it for me. But take Silversea's Egypt cruise booking the leading Egyptologist in the world, the same guy who hosts all the shows on the Discovery channel and discovered the most recent tomb. THAT kind of a speaker would do it for me.

I have been on music cruises that were a BLAST! By the way - but maybe the question is this..

John Lennon, [Jesus, Mohammed, Moses, Buddha], George Bush, Hillary Clinton, Al Sharpton, Sean McHannity, Don Imus, Howard Stern, Tom Cruise, Paris Hilton, Princess Diana (assuming she were still with us - not in the condition she is now), Prince Henry, Mao Tse Tung, Jerry Falwell.

Is there anyone who would make you book a cruise to see them?

There have been lots of lecturers that I thought would be great to sail with. Most recently, Mark Russell was on Seven Seas Voyager whom I would have loved to seen talk and perform. However, I have never booked just because of a lecturer. Being a basically pessimistic person, I feel that if I booked just for the lecturer, I would end up being disappointed when they cancel at the last minute.

Nicole Kidman was on my last cruise. However, I really don't think there is a celebrity that I would go out of the way to cruise with.

I would go with Sharpton and invite him for a "view" of the balcony railing LOL
