Default Rosie O'Donnel

Appears that the mouth doesn't think freedom of speech/opinion is good for everyone.

From Comcast news:

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - A summer cruise for gay and lesbian families organized by Rosie O'Donnell has cut Bermuda from its planned itinerary because of possible protests by church groups in the British island territory.

O'Donnell's charter company said it would replace the Bermuda stop with two other ports of call in Florida. It will also stop at a private island in the Bahamas. The tour is scheduled to leave New York in July on a ship owned by Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Line.

The charter company, R Family Vacations, said on its Web site that it wanted to avoid the type of protests that greeted passengers when one of its cruises stopped in Nassau, Bahamas, in 2004.

In the statement, the company said Bermuda's prime minister had assured them they would be welcome as tourists and they had also received hundreds of supportive e-mails from people who live in the wealthy British enclave.

Still, organizers felt they could not be certain there would be no protesters greeting them upon arrival. "We feel that our cruise would be more enjoyable with an alternate itinerary to ports where we know we are welcome by everyone."

In 2004, about 100 protesters chanting anti-gay slogans met one of the company's cruises when it arrived in Nassau with about 1,150 passengers.

O'Donnell, 45, is a co-host on ABC's "The View."

R Family Vacations, with offices in Nyack, N.Y., was founded by Gregg Kaminsky and Kelli O'Donnell, partner of the talk-show host.

Kaminsky said in a phone interview Tuesday that he expects the cruise will be sold out with about 2,000 passengers.

"We have no hard feelings against Bermuda. It's just a few church groups," he said.

Default status quo

It's just more of the same "do as I say, not as I do" ooze that seeps from most of the Hollywood/liberal types. It's nothing new, and I'm frankly not the least bit surprised. Apparently that whole freedom of speech thing is great as long as it's a one way street that supports her agenda.

And now it turns into a religious discussion!!!!

Rosie has had her day and her say!!! She either needs to change medication or go away. I no longer watch the view because I am sick and tired of her diatribe (do you like that word?) on anything and everything she doesn't like or agree with. She needs to know we live in a free world where everyone is entitled to their own opinion and should not be berated by others. Don't get me wrong, I used to love Rosie and enjoyed her show but now she is out to lunch. However, in some instances so is Elizabeth Hasselbeck. She is just as stubborn in her beliefs and politics. Still can't stand Barbara Wa Wa but do LOVE Joy Behar. Tell it like it is, and make sense when you do.

At least she will be away from Barbara Walters. I do think that her reputation has been hurt by the association.

I've watch the show a couple of times in the past...but never on a semi-regular basis...BUT my sister and her friends DID...they no longer watch specificly because of Rosie.

I never got into watching the View because of Star Jones.

She defends a man that calls his 11 year old daughter a "filthy pig".

So sad.

Doug, You know what bothers me? Some people worship her. She reminds me of the Pied Piper in the story book.

I was also offended by what she said at the fund raiser the other night. Grown people laughing at her insults of others. Her crude language in front of 17 year olds, who were there for awards.

Hahahahahahaha!!

I was never a watcher of the View. And I too have been known to tell it like I see it.

However, what I read about Rosie is always her spurting out of her mouth with some meanness. Pushing her lifestyle down people's throat. Newsflash, in the year 2007 most people are not really concerned with who some stranger sleeps with or who they love as long as both are consenting adults.

I think her day has past.

I agree that Barbara Walters has hurt her standing in the media community b/c of her association with Rosie.

I wonder what cable channel will put Rosie on and at what time slot and for how long. She has made some very powerful enemies and I am sure they are just lining up waiting for their chance at her once she is out from under Barbara Walters and the network's wings of protection.

Finally, we get rid of Rosie O. It has been way over due. She had the ABC broadcast system with the advertisers in trouble. Which is not good.
After what happened to Imus- this should have been done months ago.

If everyone notices- she is leaving on her terms- NOT.

The View is telecasted here at 12:00 noon. Today, I caught the View in it's entirety where they annonced Rosie's up-coming departure from the show. I quite often get to see 20 - 30 minutes of the show at lunch time.

From what I could understand, the View's TV ratings are the highest since Rosie started hosting the View. She is the main reason for the high ratings. Television is a business and ratings is what they base success or failure a show.

As far as I'm concerned, she's doing her job extremely well. Quite often Elizabeth says very provocative things which she should be doing but, nobody on this thread says bad things about her.

For every person who will not look at the View because of Rosie they're a lot more that will look because of her.

I don't agree with everthing she or Elizabeth says but I do appreciate the different points of view which is the reason of this show.

I just can't understand this thread's fixation towards Rosie for doing her job well.

Bill

To get into the differences with Rosie and Elizabeth would violate the house rules here, so I won't go there(I hear that Kuki has had to get a splint for his delete finger)

I will say that Rosie has effected moral in the sand for the troops. She is very much a Jane Fonda want to be. That in it's self is enough for me.

I read her blog from time to time, and I have always had her in my prayers. She talks freely about her depression, about her treatment, and meds. She also says that she has the right to speak, and I could not agree more, but when you have so many followers, you sure as heck need to know what you are talking about.

BW, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I streneously disagree,
I think she is an A** and her spoutings off are borderline treasonous.
You may like her rantings, but I personally feel she is a vile, disgusting person.
I think the network has rid themselves of a problem and my humble prayer is that we have been exposed to this creature for the last time.

Regards,
Ben
