Default Never Under Estimate the Mother of the Bride!

My shop sells a lot of "mother of" dresses and sometimes we hear horror stories. when this woman told us this story today, I got hysterical, and said, yayayayay for her!!

My customer was at a cocktail party and was told by a friend, that she finally picked out a dress for her daughters wedding. This woman, and her husband are divorced, and the husband has remarried.

The bride to be goes to visit Dad, and saw that her step mother bought the same dress her Mom had. She came home and said, Mom, I don't know how to tell you this, but____, has the same dress as you! Figuring her Mom would have a fit, she was surprised when the Mom said, that's ok, I will get another one...The daughter asked her Mother if she was going to return the first dress. She said, "no, I'll just wear it to the rehersal dinner!"

I think this woman, is a genius..

That is cute. But I read it on a board called The Knot, for the engaged. I was on it due to helping and paying for my daughter's wedding. That pops up every few months.

The woman is a genius. Too bad she's got such a loser for a daugher. That's a pretty reprehensible thing for the daughter to do.

AR,
??? I kinda took it to mean that the daughter was giving the mother a "heads up" on the situation, not that she was trying to be nasty!

I may have misunderstood the original post. I thought you meant that the daughter somehow prompted the stepmother to buy the same dress.

If buying the same dress was merely a coincidence, my apologies to the daughter.

But of course that leaves mom as the one who's a tiny bit, shall we say, vindictive. But that might be fully justified. Who knows.

What's wrong with two ladies wearing the same dress?

Dean--

For most of the women I know, the only way it's permissable for two or more to wear the same dress at the same time in the same place is if you're Radio City Rockettes.

Of course we guys could care less, but if the ladies say it's a problem, then you can bet it is a problem.
