Default Passport renewal RECEIVED, 2 weeks!

Just a note to those of you who are sending in your passports for renewal. I mailed, regular mail, but paid for expedited service. Mailed the forms on 24-April-2007, and received the new passport on 7-May-2007. We have a cruise coming up in July, and I was apprehensive that with regular service we might not get it back, but ???? Anyway, this was EXCELLENT service. Just under two weeks! 8)

WOW! I'm impressed! My former boss just applied for his and they said that with expedited service, it would take 8 weeks. He leaves for Costa Rica in 8 weeks and 2 days. Poor planning on his part! I imagine that he will get it back without a problem, but I don't know why he waited so long to apply!

Hi Donna;

Yep, it was Vita's passport, and we did stop at Walgreens and get two new photos taken. Cost was $7.95 as I recall. The new passport doesn't have the photo glued on it like the old ones did. It's actually photocopied right onto the front cover (inside of course), then holographed over that with stars and stripes. Pretty neat! Mine was renewed last year, and it's the same way, but I didn't notice because they kept the photo. They returned one of Vita's photos, and kept the other one.

Later,

Ken

Ken thanks for the feedback. Mine expired in April, I have been procrastinating on getting it renewed, but I know I must. There are a few trips in the future I am not really looking forward to (like visiting inlaws) and gee if I don't have my passport, I don't know if I could go, hehehe. But then I guess I'd miss out on the trips I do want to take... Decisions, decisions lol!
