One of my top ones, is the blatant misuse of the word 'myself'.

The misuse of the word 'oriented'. Can't stand it when people, including those on tv say 'orientated'.

Or...you're at the Bank...and the Teller and customer just ahead of you get into a personal conversation!!! (Hello...there are people waiting!!!)

We didn't think we had a lot of peeves.. But some of the ones posted on this thread are not only interesting, but they bother my DH and I too! Just never thought of them as 'peeves', but they are!

This past 2 weeks has given me another pet peeve. Being in classroom for orientation and there is a video showing something we have to learn. some of the class sit there and talk. several times I pointedly picked up the remote to turn up the volume, they did not get the hint. Another day the area Nurse was in teaching the Med certification class. Very important to know about giving meds to the clients. Same bunch rudely sit there and talk throughout the lecture. One girl slept through 3 days of classes.

I have to agree about the brats crying in restaurants. Yes I know they are human. I wait till after the "family hour" to go out to dinner but still there are cranky beasties there. Take the kids to McDonalds, aren't kids why McDonalds was opened? Just last night I waited till nearly 7:30 to leave here for dinner. I got there and the place was overrun with kids running all around. As I was leaving there was a kid running along he stopped and threw up on the floor, then ran right through the mess and kept on truckin' Where are the parents??

the biggest pet peeve, is "GUM" well not the gum, just the slobs that throw it away, on the ground, out the car window, etc.... spent 1 hour getting a glob of gum that my car tire picked up and spread all over the quarter panel of my car

Martha, I have to agree about the gum. It is everywhere almost as bad as cigarette butts. That leads me to another one. Why do smokers think that the world is their ashtray??? Cigarettes discarded on the ground, how sad that they do not discard them properly in a barrel. It takes 12 years for a cigarette filter to break down and disintegrate. Multiply that by the millions of butts on the ground in the US. Every day smokers just keep adding to the mess already there.

The one thing people do that drive me up the wall is when I am driving to the store, get in the parking lot and some jerk is sitting there in the lane waitingfor someone to unload their shopping cart so they can have that parking space when they leave, and I am sitting there, and sitting there, and sitting there......aaaaaaaaaack. Makes my blood pressure go up just writing about it!

Mehawk, loved the pet peeving on your carpet.....better to peeve on your carpet than on mine

Unless I am pressed for time, when I have one of those jerks waiting for my spot holding everyone up, when I am done putting the groceries in the car, I leave and go to another store. It really boils their blood.

The first day this was a problem. Why in the world did you not get this corrected by the second day? A stop in the Hotel Director's office would have fixed this in a hurry.

I did, only they said they would tell the Stateroom attendant. 7th day. Nothing. I wrote on my Complaint card and called RCI.

One of my peeves is brides who wear a white dress for their 2nd, 3rd, 4th weddings. They had their "white dress" wedding the first time!

This is an easy problem to fix. Sounds like you didn't work too hard at fixing the problem so that you could save the "tip" money.

You were on the manifest. The "souls on board" had to add up. You had a table in the dining room. You had a shipboard account and room key.

They play that ad all the time here. I can't believe Jenny thinks it is a good image for the company.

Thanks Angela, actually that was taken aboard the Caribbean Princess last year during our vow renewal ceremony. However, that is the dress Marj wore at the wedding.

In 2001 I was watching late night TV and an exciting infomercial came on for Peeve Relieve 2000. I whipped out my Visa, Master Card or Discover and called the 800 number and in three to six weeks a three month supply was delivered to my door. (For only $29, shipping and handling).

Since then I have been Peeve free. Thanks Peeve Relieve!!!

As an added bonus they included a free can of Spray On Hair. That stuff is great!!! Unless you sweat. Then it runs down your head in little, brown rivers. I only use it winter so it isn't any problem and no one at the School for the Blind, where I do volunteer work, even knows I have it on.

Take care,
Peeve Free Mike

Peeve Relieve - I would have thought that was a new drug to control incontinence...... or the over active bladder.....

now the spray on hair is fun at parties . . . not that I would do anything like that for a laugh
