Default Delicious Combinations

Andy Rooney just did a rant on 60 minutes about the combinations of flavors in food. He has such a flare for this type of whining...I love it.

Buying lunch at the deli he ordered a sandwich and a coke. They gave him a vanilla colke, and when he took a swig, he almost spewed it across the room! How dare they combine coke..He loves coke and he loves vanilla, BUT, NO vanilla coke! I bet as a kid he never let his food touch one another on his plate, and ate each food one at a time:)

He said as a kid, he loved peanut butter, and he like jelly, just not together..Are you a fan of all the multi flavored cereals, beverages, coffee creamers etc? IFor me, if the color is red..I'm all over it:) If the name of the product even HINTS at tropical, it's MINE:) I'm a mixy matchy kinda gal...I love the combo's!

Overall, I like most foods and food blends.

I don't like sweet mixed with protein type foods usually. Like maple syrup and sausage. UCK! A nice mango salsa with fish is ok though.

Last week they had risotto on the menu where we ate. I love risotto, but this concoction came with mussels. I just wasn't ready to try that. It probably was delicious.

Hi all!

I know this will probably gross some of you out, but honestly, that's not my intention.

I have NO idea how I ever came up with this.......I LOVE peanut butter and lettuce sandwiches I think it's cause the lettuce makes the peanut butter not stick to the roof of your mouth.....try it, you just might like it too

Chocolate covered cherries, rum and pineapple, potatoes and sour cream, salt and pepper, mustard and ketchup, tequila and lime, cheese and sausage, eggs and bell peppers, too many to list...

are you serious? mayo and peanut butter? hmmmmm - I gotta to dare someone I know to try this - but then again, the more you think about the more it sounds like it would be edible; lots of people have peanuts in their salad with a mayo based salad dressing.....

Default Delicious Combinations

I saw Andy Rooney's diatribe on that last night. I had to think about it for a while, but actually it's different combinations that make cuisine interesting. Peanuts in salad? Sure, why not!

I won't even start: I scare half the people out of chat whenever I talk about what I like.

BTW: No one has said anything remotely "strange".

Take care,
Mike

My husband has this but adds a slice of tomatoe to it as well. After 29 years of marriage, I still can't bring myself to try it!

[color=blue]My late mother used to be able to stretch a dime like no one else! She would occasionally make a salad using several bananas sliced lengthwise, fill them with peanutbutter, put them back together (yes, they'll stick), then slice them widthwise. In a bowl, gently mix the sliced peanutbutter bananas, mayo and torn up pieces of lettuce, serve chilled. My sister and I loved this salad and would always argue who would get the last banana...Hmmmm, think I'll make this salad for my supper tonight!
