If I sang at karaoke everyone would run screaming from the room.

well, I've been told I do a pretty good Sly and The Family Stone ..Dance To The Music..and my 4 year old granson likes to play the bongo's when we sing it together on his Karoke machine, which his mother wishes I never bought him either the machine or the bongos and I remind her that's what grandfather's do (VBG)

At one time karaoke was for those that cannot carry a tune. In a bar couple of drinks. It was fun. these days its seems that people try start careers through Karaoke
Love to sing any of the "Big Band" standards, and some country. My personal favorites are: It had to be you (the Harry Conick Jr. version) I've got you under my skin, Summer Wind, All of me, Time after Time, They Can't take that Away from Me, Nice 'N Easy, Come Fly with Me, (I guess by now you've figured out that I like Sinatra tunes. Country songs I enjoy doing are: Your Man, I left something turned on at home, Long Black Train, I Love this Bar, etc. Actually I enjoy all music, and wish I could sing them all, but my vocal talents are limited!
Melody..I'll buy you some Pusser's Rum from Tortola (from Pussers Landing)and we can make "Painkillers" (awesome drink) and karoke to the song "Cruising" by Smokey Robinson (or Huey Lewis if you prefer) and we will both be so toasted we won't care what we sound like to others (VBG)
Mean Dean and I can do the duet "Shout" by the Isley Brothers in honor of his affection for the movie "Animal House"..what was the name of the group "Otis and the Knights?"
And Rollerdonna..I would be honored to karoke with you anytime..we could do our own version of "More Then A Woman"..You can do it like the Bee Gees and I 'll do the Taveres version, which should make a very interesting duet (VBG)
Skymaster..have you ever seen Harry Connick Jr in concert doing his big band songs ? If not, try to, he is awesome (and of course from New Orleans) !!!
Venice, if I ever get the chance to see Mr. Connick, you can bet I'll be there. I love big band, as much as you love smooth jazz!
RollerDonna, we absolutely WILL cruise together again in the future, and absolutely WILL sing karaoke together. I'll be hunting a good song for us to do, so we can practice.
Skymaster..if you love big bands you may want to check out "The Jazz Cruise" which features several big bands ..this year their special guest is Arturo Sandavol with his Cuban All Stars and they are AWESOME and also Roberta Lombardi singing alot of Ella Fitzerald and Billie Holiday with a big band back up...My uncle use to play drums with Lionel Hampton back "in the day" and I love watching old clips of Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman and Nat King Cole
Songs I have Karaoked:
Great balls of fire
Fever
Diamonds are a girls best friend
Hey, big spender
The theme to the Love Boat.
Hey Will I think "Blame all on my roots" is actually Grath Brooks "friends in low places" like all music. Whose going to Karaoke with me on 3CCCs? Okay for the people who haven't karaoked before you don't have to be good. You just have to have fun and people will enjoy it and Mel rum helps.

i have only karoked a couple of times at family gatherings and after multiple drinks. however for my first ever cruise next year my sister wants me to karoke with her. we are still trying to figure out which song to sing to. we were looking for a song thats kinda fun, short and has a good beat so that it wont matter that we dont sound so good. also she will need to give me time to drink down my courage first. (3-4 stiff drinks should do the trick)

I can supply the drinks. Like I said you don't have to be good just give a good performance and I knew you can do it. Just leave you clothes on this time.

actually we are trying to get Mel on the cruise with us already. im trying to upgrade to a triple. its just me and my 8 year old son. so far though no luck. the other options that her and i were just talking about last night was to find someone she can share a cabin with. of course i dont know if the cruise is already all booked or not.

EXCELLENT! Thanks for the information! I absolutely will check it out! I was in the U.S. Marine Corps Band for a number of years,,,played all the bass instruments from string bass, tuba, sousaphone, to valve trombone. They never gave me the opportunity to do any vocals, but I sing with various combo's that I played with during my USMC stint.
its a date. do you serenade too? i know you play. however if you meet us in venice that still doesnt solve our cabin problem. oh well i guess i will just keep checking to see if a triple opens up. if not then i will send you a postcard mel.

My Kat,My Kat....Thank You Now spank me for the wrong answer
Consider yourself properly spanked, my dear sweet Will!
Okay, I think we need to get the audience drunk before I sing....that's seems like a better plan, cos I'm not a cheap drunk....I would have to not eat all day and then start with shots just to get the nerve to sing!

i am not a cheap drunk either. however i tend to throw them back kinda fast. my girlfriend and i went to a bar recent and the bartender commented that i would probably have my drink finished in 5mins. my reply was " then line em up for me".
