My nephew will be studying in England this year. Because of this his girlfriend will need a passport to visit him over winter break. She applied for her passport in St. Cloud, Minnesota on July 19 and received it yesterday. She is twenty one years old and has never had a passport.
That is five weeks and six days, or 41 days. This is "without" having it expedited. It seems that things are turning around. At least in this region.
That is nice.
Take care,
Mike

Great news for her! Our friends in Fl sent in for their renewals, in January. They just got them 5 days ago. The only bright light in that passport back-up mess is the collection of back due child support from those trying to get passports.

My nieces applied on June 23 of this year and have NOT gotten them yet. They have never applied for one either. My sis got her renewal 4 weeks after she applied and applied a week later than her kids. Go figure. That is our wonderful money being spent well!
Mike, I just received my renewal yesterday which was sent in mid May, yet Mrs. Thomas, whose was sent off in the same envelope, has not been received yet. Go figure!!!
Regards,
Thomas

That is great news. My boss and his wife applied for theirs over six weeks ago, but they have not arrived. They leave next week for their cruise. They will not need it for the cruise, but would have liked to have it for ID purposes anyway. Maybe it will show up before they leave after all.

That's good news Mike. Unfortunately that doesn't apply everywhere. My sister and her boyfriend applied for their passports in early Jan. anticipating a visit to my sick elderly aunt in California. My aunt died in March and they still had not received their passports, so they missed the funeral. They did not receive them till May, when they finally went for a visit - to my cousin and her family.
