Default update on you're ............

I went with my sister to her new doctor . I was so proud of her. She was SO NERVOUS, I could see it, I could see her mouthing to her self what she wanted to say. It broke my heart a little. We get called in and she right away, extends her hand and says " I am .......it's very nice to meet you". I was so proud of her. Sat down, he slowly asked her questions, and did the medical things and then asked her about her life, her hobbies and such. He caught on the fact that she loves birds, and it is quite true that she has an enourmous knowledge of wild birds in particular. A friend of ours builds her new bird houses yearly to encourage rarer species to come and nest at the farm. Well, this doctor clearly has the same passion, and it was so wonderful to see those crystal blue eyes light up as she talked about "Oh well I have this and I have that nesting". He was quite impressed. She has pictures of alot of the wild life, and he hands her a paper with email and asks her to send some pics to him . He then gives her the bad news that he wants more blood work, more often, that she needs another cardiogram and so on, and she didnt look to happy, but then he adds a last slip of paper with a perscription for Timmy's (a favorite donut place) after her blood work is done...........he was just wonderful with her.....and you can believe she will not forget her trip to timmys! It was such a relief for all of us.

oh that is wonderful. i know you mentioned that this doctor was going to retire but maybe he can suggest a new doctor when and if that time comes. maybe easy her from one doctor to another. anyway i was thinking kinda the same way as the doctor. do you think that she would mind if you posted some of her pictures of birds on this site? i would love to see them. i bet she has some excellent ones too.

The doctor she saw is older, and his practice is closed . to new patients because he has to heavey a load of patients, but he took her because of some connections I had, and he truly felt bad for what she went through. He is not retired, or about to, although he is older and spends less time like on call at the hospital etc. When he does retire, he has a very busy practice and no doubt a younger doctor will take his practice and patients. He does alot of teaching and so he knows alot of the younger ones who are starting out on their own. As for the pics, I am sure she wont mind and I will try and post some, I have a busy day tomorrow and adoption clinic Saturday and dinner Sunday, but some time next week, Surgery clinic on Monday, so probably tuesday after a meeting that I have. I gave her a digital camera which she loves and also I help her when she wants me to get really good Zoom photos on a higher end digital camera.I enjoy that as a hobby, and have been having great fun as I was given two more Canon digital Camera's to test and then write a review, which I love doing, these are camera number 4 and 5 now, and I get to keep them!

Excellent! I'm so glad to hear that you found a really good doctor, who really cares about his patients. Take good care of your sis, and keep us updated.

What a wonderful update. I'm actually smiling from ear to ear, which right now is quite a feat, but I truly can't help myself!

I too would love to see the bird pictures. I enjoy them as well, tho' I have nothing very rare in my neighborhood. I feed them and love to watch them and the squirrels. I have missed them this summer. Tho the Blue Jays have been entertaining us lately - bunching up about 8 to a tree that "jawing" at each other and doing acrobatics - a very colorful, noisy show indeed!

Thank you for letting us know how it went! The difference between the two doctors is night and day -- the second one being a ray of sunshine!
