Default 15th Central Florida Cruisers Dinner is History

We all met, in the rain, and had a wonderful gathering. And the food was good.

It rained on most of us coming in and coming out but this was one of the best we have had. The restaurant may not be the most beautiful in dacor but the food was excellent. And especially the cruisers that were there. We had a wonderful time.

And I was surprised. Gaile pulled a good one on me. She said that her girl friend and daughter would be with her BUT loe and behold I got a call on my cell while we were seated at the tables. It was from Sharon, Tacoma, Washington. She was wishing me good luck on the dinner meeting and I said Thanks for calling me all the way from Washington. A few words was said and I looked towards the entrance door and saw Sharon talking to me on the phone. I could have fell dead with surprise. She and Larry Flew all the way cross country to attend out DINNER. So that is my surprise. I was very happy and all the others were glad that she and Larry came to be with us.

I have several pictures to show this time. When I get time I will post them.

Donna anytime you are ready to pull off a surprise like that, just let me know. We are reliable chauffers and can keep a secret real good.

Was great seeing Arlene again. Sorry Marc didn't make it this time. We all missed him. Missed Earl too. (he had to work) Next time Earl.

It was so amazing to be there and see Larry and Sharon again. I can't believe they flew all that way just to have dinner with us. What a wonderful surprise. I met so many new people tonight. I just had the best time. It was also nice seeing again the people I already knew. I think everyone had a great time.

Ray: It sounds like another great time! Gaile is famous (and very good) at the surprise factor! I've been involved with surprising someone with her and have also been surprised by her.....she is the greatest!!!!!!!
Ray, my hubby was just talking about you and Helen yesterday and said "I wonder when we will see them again"........one never knows!

I was dining with Jodi ( uconn), Arlene, Ken & Vita (skymaster)
At the last minute Earl had to work ,had the pager to.
It was raining so hard, I couldn't see more then a few inches in front.
I just drove real slow.
The prime rib was delicious. the company of good friends was even better.
It was truly wonderful seeing Sharon & Larry, Gaile & Harry,Ray & Helen& others
I'm looking forward to the next one.

Yep, we absolutely had a wonderful time. The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) even commented on the way home that these dinners keep getting better, and better! What a great group of people, and what great friends. We just can't wait until the next dinner, or better yet, the next cruise with these folks. (Can you keep a secret? There is talk of a cruise get together at our table, or maybe even a short trip to Tokyo! Get ready Marc. )
We are anxious to see some pictures from last night!

Ken, I just finished packing for my trip tomorrow to Boston. There is no such thing as a "short trip to Tokyo."

So, if you are up for a long trip, we have plenty of room and would love to have you.

Thanks for posting Ray. I had just the best time. Meeting all the cruisers and seeing Sharon and Larry and everyone again. It was such fun and I got to meet my neighbors in Lakeland Ken and Vita. Does it get any better than this?? good friends and good food having fun together.

Jodi is in there and Its got to be her with her hand in the air. But for a picture of her take a look at the Personal Gallery. She is in 2 images there.

Great pictures Ray, thanks for posting! I LOVE your lilac and white print shirt!
Also, Vita's top is my favourite colour too!
Biggest surprise was Laura - my guess would've been that Arlene was Laura, that's how I imagined her to look! Strange how you get these mental pictures of somebody and they end up looking nothing like that!
It was nice that I recognized almost everyone else - because I've met all these wonderful people and do hope to meet them again some day - either at a dinner, or on a cruise! James was just asking yesterday if we could arrange for everyone to meet at some port of departure (cruising or not) for a big dinner some time. He really enjoyed our get together in Miami!

Yes, Marc, that is me with my hand in the air.... Ray got a couple of pics of me anyways, and I am sure he has posted them.

For you that don't know, I pretty much avoid pictures, but Ray was so convincing, and I wanted pictures of those cruising with me next month, he got a couple in.

Dinner was great & even greater was surprising Ray......he was speachless!!!! Can you imagine that????

Special thanks to Gaile & Harry for making our surprise work.....they are great hosts!!!!

Marc.........very true......no short trip to Toyko........but stick Hawaii in there for a few days before & after makes the flight shorter.......

The dinner was almost as good as a cruise........the clams were EXCELLENT........

Hope to see y'all real soon again...........
