Just wanted to wish Helen (Ray's better half) a speedy recovery. Seems she was standing on a chair and cleaning an overhead lighting fixture when she slipped and fell hitting her head on the tile floor.
Following a ride to the hospital in an ambulance, several tests and a bunch of stitches she is once again home and resting comfortably.
Get well quickly Helen you have a cruise coming up.
OMG I hope everything is okay... and Helen we must find you a better way to clean those pesky light fixtures...

Tweety, thanks for telling us. We wondered last night on Chat what had happened to Ray.
Helen, I am so sorry this has happened to you and sincerely hope you have a smooth recovery.
Ray, you and Helen should be VERY careful and observant for symptoms of a subdural hematoma (blood clot). When Keith fell, it took three months before we noticed anything wrong. When he fell, no x-rays were taken at the ER. But three months later, a scan showed the clot. He could have died of a stroke had it not been attended to, so please watch Helen carefully.
Location: Greater Tampa Bay area (south of the BIG BRIDGE!)
Gaile, thanks for letting us know about Helen.
Hope Helen has a flawless recovery. Head injuries are not to be taken lightly.
Helen, be careful and please hire someone to do those high cleaning jobs. We all are less agile as we 'mature'....everytime I get on a step stool in the kitchen I THINK about what I am doing and force myself to be cautious. I think accidents happen when we just do what we have always been used to doing without thinking. We just need to pay attention.
Helen, feel better soon. My prayers and thoughts are on the way to you.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
Helen and I and other "petite" women know about step stools, right, Helen? We climb on them to reach something that is of normal height for other people.
I've fallen 3x at work-once off a one step stool. Luckily, I've fallen on the fanny and not the head---and done a complete body slam on the carpet while running for the phone. So far, so good.
Helen, you'll be fine. I worry more about your knee than your head!!
Oh my, that's awful news, but thanks Tweety for keeping us posted, and best wishes to Helen for a speedy recovery. Ray, please watch her carefully for follow-up care, and no more cleaning light fixtures!
To Helen a speedy recovery. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Please don't take any chances with our upcoming cruise....Please follow Dr's orders and only go if Helen is cleared. I sure do hope it works out, as I am so looking forward to cruising with the two of you!!
