For those who like the big ships

I came across this picture of Delta's answer to the new cruise ships. It brings to mind the first time we saw the QM2 in Long Beach harbor.

Honestly, I didn't do it.

If they keep building the cruise ships any bigger, they'll soon be needing aircraft like that just to get the sheer number of passengers to the port of embarkation.

Keith,

What model plane is this? It sure doesn't look like any passenger plane I've seen or heard of. It looks more like a NASA Super Guppy with jet engines and Delta markings. Are you playing "Fun with Photoshop" on us? LOL

Take care,
Mike

Scary!!!!

I said I didn't do it, someone else did.

Sometimes I think today's cruise ships were designed with Photoshop. If not they could be, the scantlings are pretty much spelled out in Lloyds.

I have seen video of these planes on television, on the Discovery Channel. I don't know what type it is but they are real.

Michael,

The Super Guppy transport plane is like this and the An-124 Russian Transport plane is "sort" of similar but there isn't a commercial plane that is anything like this.

Here is a picture of the Super Guppy:

The Airbus 380 is currently the largest commercial airliner: This is what it looks like:

I really do believe someone did a little fancy editing to create the original picture.

Take care,
Mike
