Default Warning graphic Image

It's graphic if you are dieting. Check out my lastest baking effort using my new pastry book. Only 410 calories per slice. Sadly all that remains of this pie is the pictures oh and the extra pounds.

katlady, your culinary skills are very impressive! Great job! I too am considered the "baker" of the family and am always looking for recipes. I own over 300 cookbooks.....and still can't resist buying them.

that pie looks mighty good, and better than mine! I just finished my pies ,they are made with SPLENDA for those who cannot have the sugar, so a few less calories. But they dont look as inviting as yours does! also I just finished a choc, cake that is decorated. All in prep for thanksgiving. I am doing dinner Sunday. My house is not big, and with the table extended, it is cramped, but I would never give up doing it as it shows my son and loved ones they were worth the time and effort and the memories created are priceless! I put the turkey in the fridge to start the thaw, and tomorrow I will start the table, and I will await delivery of one of your pie's so it will look nice on my table!!!!!

I'm not sure the pie would make it to Canada from California in that condition. I found this neat little pie crust cut you roll out the top crust then place it over the cutter roll on the cutter the flip on to the pie it creates all the apple cutout you see. Here is a picture of the cutter. It's fun and easy to use they made different designs.

That cutter is really cute! Your pie looked awesome. Was it a regular apple pie, or were there special ingredients?

Wish I had a piece of warm pie with my morning coffee - that would make for a very nice breakfast.

Awesome pie! It sure beats my low cal dish of sliced apples with cinnamon and a little brown sugar that I put in the microwave and then pretend it's a pie. :-)

Oh wow, Delfthuis, what a beautiful cake! I am thinking about taking a Wilton cake decorating class if I can find one that will fit inbetween my trips back and forth to NC.....lol. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

katlady, glad you posted a pic of that pie crust cutter. I was thinking when you posted the pic of your pie that those were cute, little playboy bunny cutouts on it....

Delfthuis that is a Beautiful Cake. Almost a shame to cut it. But I still wish I could have a piece. Send it to California.

You've got to love a board where graphic images involve FOOD! As my grandaddy used to say,"I only like two kinds of pie - hot and cold." He was a very wise man.

Katlady, if you send me some pie, I will send you some cake! Inis it is fun doing cakes, and woth taking a class and trying to do it.

well, almost ready for thanksgiving. The turkey is thawing in the fridge, the table is set, the house is finally clean, the bathrooms sparkle, the kitchen ready for alot of cooking tomorrow! It is cold and wet today, but that is OK, we have had such wonderful weather and fall has to arrive at some time! They say it will be dry tomorrow, hope yes!

Yummy!! Pies and cakes all looking so yummy. Just back from my cruise and all filled up with those goodies.Sure wish I could bake a pie. My Mother was the best but I did not inherit that talent from her at all.

Thanks Jen. It ended up being one of the nicest thanksgving dinners yet. The atmosphere was so nice, people arrived at five and they didnt start to even think about winding down till after 10 PM. Just alot of talking and enjoyment. The "kids" had fun as well, and all in all a nice wonderful day. The weather so so perfect yesterday. Today dark and rain but that is OK. Jen I hope you feel better soon.

Kat................I saved a piece of cake...........j8ust waiting for my piece of pie!
