Default How do I go about selling my cruise?

I had some unexpected job changes come up and I will not be able to take my cruise. Does anybody have any ideas on how I can sell this? It is an NCL 8 day to Mexico departing on 1.3.08. Unfortonately I did not get the optional insurance (not as if it would apply anyway)

Please help!!!!!!

Thanks,

Dan

You had best check with NCL to be sure they will allow a name change on your booking before you attempt to do anything.

I have checked with NCl and they do allow name changes up to 3 days before the cruise. Unfortunately, I will have to cancel 30 days prior to departure if I can't sell by then.

Departure port is LA.

I think you may be out of luck. You should have bought travel insurance.

while it is true it is important to have travel insurance, and I have it always, but people need to be aware it DOES NOT cover you for all reasons for cancelations. Also plans vary, and you have to read the fine print. Whether you take insurance from the cruise, your TA, privately, whether part of your employment insurance plan, you must read the policy and determine if it is the best coverage for you and your needs.

Also, it must be recognized most basic plans, do not cover any pre existing illness, so you need to buy extra if you want to be covered for these issues. If you have preexisting issues, you need to be sure that you make other plans. Like I always bring the emergency drugs that I may need IV , I have contact via email with my docs at home, I arrange head of time places I can get blood work done and sent off by fax to my doctors if need be, and I of course make aware either the airline or cruise of my issues should I need help.

It sounds like this poster had to cancel for a reason other than medical, but thought it was a good time to remind people to look at their plans and cover their Butts so to speak.

The coverage throught NCL only covers Medical cancellations. We had to cancel because of other reasons. With that being said I still have some time (30days) until I have to cancel and lose my deposit.

THanks for all your help.

Dan, you might consider calling the cruise line, explaining your situation and see if they will let you reschedule. Carnival does this occasionally, so I think the others might as well.

Good Luck!

We paid a little extra for insurance that will pay us for almost any reason we cancel.....including work getting in the way.

This insurance was separate from the cruise line...which I think helps.
