Putting a photo on your post

I think I need some help.
I was able to post pictures in the Gallery, but I am having trouble adding a photo here on the message board. Can you tell me how this is done???

Just figured this out again myself. It's been a while and the brain cells don't work as good as they used to.

Just go to your picture in the gallery. Right click on it to get the properties. Look for the URL and copy that info (I high light it and then click control C) then go to your post and put it in like this:

[img]whatever the url address is[/img]

Hope that helps you. If not you can do a search for how to do it or wait and someone else can probably explain it better.

You got the right address just highlight it and press Img. So it looks like this but no spaces.

Now I can't load a new picture in to the gallery. It was working fine a little while ago. Did the witch put a spell on it??????

I want a new avatar picture. I can't downsize the one I tried to put in, and was going to ask for help.

I added the picture this afternoon in the last photo on my thanksgiving golden cruise 2002 album.

Do you want the photo in the upper left hand corner as your avatar?

The info you are given here won't do that for you. Like me, your picture is probably in too big a format to go into the avatar spot. You would have to go to your profile to add it anyway if that is what you want to do. I know a very smart wonderful guy (Mike) who knows all the tricks. Wish he could downsize me as easily as he does photos.

That is exactly where I wanted the picture to go in the uper left hand corner...thank you..thank you. Although.....

I do think you are right, my photos may be too large....back to the drawing board....

To get the pictures to show as an avitar, rather than in the body of your post, you have to access your profile, and scroll down to avatar, and load it. Only thing is you have to reduce the size of the picture considerably before it will load as an avatar.

I have bbeen trying to add my picture forever but always says it is too big. So I had someone cut it down for me but it still won't go. I give up.

That is one reason seadog has not posted a picture. still trying to figure it out. This info helps a lot. I just recently figured out the countdown clock.

I sized your picture and put it in this photo gallery http://www.cruisemates.com/gallery2/view.php?id=626 I resized to 85 X 120 Pixels and if you downloaded it as your avatar in profile it would have worked. However, after I put it back into the gallery in got larger so now it's in there the photo gallery are acting funny and I can't delete it. You are asking two different questions How to put a picture in a post? and How to create an avatar that will show with all your posts? The answers are below

For the Avatar: Do you have MS photo editor because it's real easy to resize in there. Just open the picture, click image a drop down menu will show, then click resize change units for inches to pixels, click into the large number either width or height and change that number to 120 the other number will auto change. This is very important do a Save as and rename the picture. than on this site click profile scroll down to avatar and download the avatar from you computer. Good Luck.

Why you couldn't post a picture in a post. The reason why your img stuff didn't work is because you highlighted the whole message and not just the web address. In your last message only this in red should have been highlighted and then click the Img button.

Look at Lombard's last post. That is the format for displaying a picture. Once you submit the post the img and url will disappear and this will reappear.

Congratulations How we just need to teach you how to put a picture in a post. It's hard to learn these things without someone in the room showing you.

I so agree with you. I needed the step by step from Mike to put my pic there.

Now I have to relearn how to post pics. in the Personal Photo Gallery. I put my personal ones in the Cruise Photo Gallery and then had to delete them .

Hey, I did it once, I can do it again in the right photo gallery...

I lost my hard drive on the plane last week.
Lost everything including all of my pics!!!
Only ones I have now are on this site.

I finally bought a portable hard drive with automatic back-up!
