What about pecan pie? That's a Southern tradition for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

My Hubby has a food allergy to Pecans and Walnuts that is why I didn't include Pecan Pie. They do have a Meatless Mincemeat pie recipe. Maybe that have a Pecanless Pecan Pie recipe.

Because I am a chocoholic I went with Chocolate Cream pie. Don't care for mincemeat but the others would be fine.

Mel: Never became a Pecan Pie fancier. Lived in Alabama for five years and spent a lot of time in Atlanta and could never handle the "sweetness" of it. I also couldn't handle most "sweet tea". My teeth began to decay at the thought of it.

Take care,
Mike

Paula Deen from the food channel has a very easy lemon mirangue pie that is amazingly good considering how simple it is.

When I was a kid, my grandmother made the most amazing banana-coconut cream pie. It was sooooooooooo good. I only wish I had her recipe.

I voted for the Apple, because you can never have to many.

Mike, I grew up on the sweet tea, and now I don't know how I dealt with it. It seems so much sweeter. These days I ask for half and half, which mixes the sweet with the unsweetened.

Hi Melissa your recipe looks great I like the melted chocolate chips. I sent you a recipe for White chocolate banana cream pie.

It's interesting how pie changes depending on what part of the county you are from. Key Lime pie I think Florida, Pecan Pie I think the south, and Mincemeat pie makes me think of New England. It is interesting. Manuel I don't know of a Portuguese pie or else I would have included it.

Egg Nog pie recipe.
Ingredients
1 1/4 cup cold eggnog
1 1/4 cup milk
1 tsp rum extract
1 package 6 oz vanilla instant pudding
1 baked graham cracker crust
whipped topping red/green sugar crystal

Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the eggnog, milk, rum extract and pudding mix. Beat on high for one minute. Pour at once into the baked crust. Chill until set about one hour. Garnish with the whipped cream and the red and green sugar. I like to sub in real rum for the rum extract but maybe that is just me.

Done right mincemeat pies are very good especially with a spoonful of sour cream on top. But I voted for the mud pie.

Thanks for the info on the Eggnog pie. I think I would use real rum too, not crazy about the extract.

I may have to whip one up once the kids are home for the holidays.

Living in NY Apple country I think of NY as either Apple pie or Cheese Cake.

I have spent lots of time in new england and have never thought of Mincemeat pie native to say Boston or Vermont. Maybe that's something I have missed and should try on my next trip up.

Chocolate Cream Pie is giving Apple a run for it's money. Oreo Pudding Pie is just happy to get a vote. That is your pie poll update.

I know my mother loves mincemeat pie, as did my father, and my older brother and sister. I guess it is pretty New England. I will tell you the truth...I don't eat it. Somehow venison baked into a pie, spices and dried fruit aside (not sure what else is in it) just doesn't thrill me. I prefer my venison pan fried in a little butter.

It's the chocolate people VS the apple people. I need to go shopping for the pie supplies so today will be the last day of the poll.
