Kat... while there's some beautiful dresses there I didn't vote for any of them.

I think how good a dress looks depends a GREAT deal on the person wearing it. Unlike something like shoes, which can look good, or cute on just about everyone, a dress that looks fantastic on one person can easily lose it when worn by someone else.

I'm a bit of a male oddity (in many ways ), but I buy alot of Mrs. Kuki's clothes. Often when she's not even with me. If I happen to see something I think will look great on her, I bring it home for her. Of course if she hates it she can take it back. But that actually happens very infrequently. After 27 years I guess I got a feel for what will look great on her.

Bottom line, for men and women.... if you try something on and feel great in it, chances are you'll look great too!

I am making an assumption that you are considering one of these dresses for your upcoming cruise to Europe...since you will be traveling so far, a consideration would be which dress would travel the best and be the lightest in your suitor...also which dress would you be able to have the most uses for at other occassions after the cruise..and then of course any dress should be able to match a nice basic black tux for a man..so when Brad leave Angelina and takes you on a cruise to the Greek islands, you will look good together as a couple

I've learned a long time ago not to tell a woman what I think she would look good wearing on formal night..I just try to find a coordinating outfit

Ok Kuki since you do buy alot of Mrs. K's clothes then the question for you would be which one of the dresses (if any) would you buy for her?
and the same question would go for all the boys. Which dress (if any)would you buy or like to see your wife/GF/better half in?

As for us girls which dress (if any) would you like to buy and wear for yourself.

My answer would be A and E It's really hard to pick between the two I love them both and since there are two formal nites on a 7+ nite cruise I can buy both. 8)
But If these dresses are high end designers (prada, D&G etc) then I'll have to just head over to Macy's/Bloomingdales for a dress in my price range.

Though I have a feeling Kat did trick us all and threw in a cheapo dress!

Thanks Kat for another fun post!

Have a great day everyone!

I think they are all very lovely dresses but if it were me, I'd probably choose D or E. They both are very tasteful, flattering dresses, that don't scream "hey look at my boobs!"

When we took our first three cruises, I really enjoyed the formal aspect. However, I find that my tastes have evolved in a much different direction. I quickly tired of lugging the extra lugage required to "put on the ritz". Of course it was formal wear for four people and not just me. So in the interest of saving our sanity and our backs we have scaled back substantially. I bring lots of seperates that are glitzy, shimmery, tops a few standard choices for bottoms that can be mixed and matched, such as a pair of pallazo pants, gauchos, and a long skirt (all black) all of which take up about the same amount of space as one of my previous formal outfits and they do not wrinkle. I have a few shawl/scarves/wraps and pretty but lightweight jackets that I wear to give them a finished formal looks for formal night. But those few items take care of my dinner wear for the entire cruise and all I need is one pair of black dress shoes.

I chose D. The others were too immodest. A pair of dressy black pants and a couple of dressy tops will ease the packing challenge that a long dress only complicates.

I've actually seen Angelina Joline in the French Quarter none of the dresses would do her justice..she would look absolutely incredible in a sweatsuit...whatever she wore on a formal night on a cruise, no male would even notice once we gaze into her eyes

Okay I had to mix it up. I think CQ is on to me. Dresses A and B are Fredericks of Hollywood, Dresses C, D and E are Nordstroms. Here is were I had fun. Dresses C and D are plus size dresses size 14 to 24. I love the color on D. Kuki picked a Fredericks of hollywood dress for Angelina Joline and a Nordstrom's dress for his wife. That is very interesting.

Kat.. Though we don't have a Nordstroms here, Mrs. Kuki has purchased several outfits that she wears on cruises at Nordstroms. She loves Nordstroms.

Below is a picture of a dress I chose without her. But I did take her to the store to show her, and have her try it on, rather than just buy it. Though she loves it, and is saving it to wear for Kuki Jrs wedding.

I chose D, tho' I did love the color of E - too much rouching for me.

D's had a nice jewel tone color - it looked fun and flirty and classy all in one, I could really see myself wearing it - not just for a cruise, but to a Wedding or a party too.

Geela will be the "Belle of the Ball" at Kuki Jr's. Wedding - I remember your posting of the dress before - but forgot how fabulous she looked in it.

Great dress Mrs. K! Pretty dress Pretty lady!

I love nordstroms you can find unique dresses that you don't see elsewhere.

Kuki I'm going to have to add it looks like from the photo that you have a lovely home. Like the front door, color of the paint on the wall(it's the color of my kitchen) and the tile floor (but I am a fan of tile and marble since DH is in the T&M business).

Kat I knew there was going to be a cheapo in there. I do like A so at $54.99 that is a steal.
However I do like E also but at over $500. that would be over my limit for a cruise dress. Upto $300. for a cruise dress. But $500. + is ok for my sons wedding. (But my son is only 16 so by the time be gets married that $500.+ dress will be more like $1000.+)

I like "A" because it accents the shoulders. If a woman has great shoulders, she should show them off.

The closest I would come to to buy, would be E...but that's a lot of ruching!
I am not a fan of formal clothing, in bright colors, such as the purple and the royal blue..I tend to go to the platinum as in #5, or taupe, ivory, browns or black.....

I mut say though, I am enjoying this fashion show:) Geela looks great in that red carpet winner!

I chose E - always did say "I have champagne tastes on a beer budget!"

I agree with Beenie on the packing and mixing things up with basics such as pants and skirts with nice tops and accessories and one good pair of evening shoes.

And Kuki, all I can say is wow - you have wonderful taste - your wife is lucky - and so are you - she is beautiful.

Interesting!

I chose D for basically the same reasons that others have noted.

>> A suffers from a model who is too broad-shouldered to wear that style. On the right model, it would be fine.

>> B shows a little too much cleavage for good taste. (Then again, consider the source....)

>> C would look great on a model that was less buxom.

>> D looks classy and tasteful, and the style would even work during maternity!

>> E is quite elegant, but would look much better in a different color.

And practically, I suspect that many ladies would not want to take the risk of travelling with something as expensive as E. If one's airline loses one's luggage, the compensation would not replace it.

Norm.

You know what's funny is dress C was orignially pictured on a less buxtom model. The problem with the skinny model is the dress is a plus sized dress designed for a plus sized woman. The originally model was to skinny for the dress and didn't have enough up top for the dress. But hey here is Dress C with another model I don't think this model is any thinner the the first one. Be nice people. I had issues with Dress C after I bought it the dye came off on my skin, so I returned it for some good walking shoes. I really like Dress D I may have to buy that one.
