right after Katrina I made a post to ask Kuki to consider doing a CM group cruise in the future..He stated at that time he would do everything possible in the future
Well, the future is now and I see the 2009 Bloggers cruise with with John Herald will be on the Fantasy Feb 7-11th, 2009 In true Southern Hospitality, my Baton Rouge neighbor Melody and I will have to plan a surprise for our CM family
Thanks Kuki, for honoring your committment..I'm sure our CM'ers will have the opportunity to see how much more work is still needed in almost 3 1/2 years after Katrina, and also how much progress the Gulf Coast has made
As an added incentive for folks, 2009 Mardi Gras is on February 24th, and usually about 16 days out, the parades start almost on a nightly basis, so bring your beads
I am recruiting hard......okay Dan we can share a cabin ask your wife first....then we can sell tickets so CM's can watch our first meeting and eventual arguments We could get enough to cover our sail and sign accounts! Just joking but I really am going on this one! Melody
If you are going to walk on thin ice, you may as well dance!
I wanta go!!!!!! Stupid lack for money and airfare. I haven't even brought it up to the hubby yet. I gotta wait for the right time. But even then I think the answer is NO. I understand his position bills gotta be paid. My only shot is cruise points. However, I can't use em with CM.

if it helps to keep expenses down on the pre cruise end..everybody can bring their sleeping bags and I'll put up my pup tent in my backyard and we can pick berries for food and I'll rent a port-a-pottie and everyone can wash in the swamp with the alligators
B.W.....I hadn't plan on going on this one, since with the Good Lord's help I will just be returning from the Playboy Jazz Cruise on Feb 1st..but since you were so helpful to your buddy Melody, perhaps you can make one phone call and find me a roommate..I only have a few small criteria for my roommate
- SHE must not have a husband or BF or significant other
- SHE must insist, (over my vehement objection) that she will cover all
- SHE must sign a non disclosure agreement that states "what happens on
the cruise and in our cabin stays on the ship and in our cabin"
- SHE must know how to do the following dances : Salsa, Cupid Shuffle
- She must like to read and discuss great books, knows great Jazz when
she hears it and does not post on our CM board (so she can't "out" me
with a picture of the two of us posted on our board)
I'll await your phone call and/or "pm"
thanks for helping out so I can hang out with all you on the Fantasy
p.s. - if you can't find anyone I'll just have to hang out with your family and Melody and her roomie
Well Venice I had someone just perfect. She met all of the criteria except for one-
She is very discreet.
She is an adequate dancer
She doesn't post or read our fine board. She is an accomplished musician in her own right, won many awards, even world championships, she has played with a several well known performers, a few you probably know well in your neck of the woods. She is an officianado when it comes to Ragtime and Dixieland and I would almost put her up against Scott Joplin, Fats Waller and Jelly Roll Morton. She plays a wicked Kitten on the Keys, Bumble Boogie, and Maple Leaf Rag.
The only problem I can see is you insist she not be married or encumbered by a signifcant other. Because if you would take her off my Father's hands for a week or so, He would gladly pay for all of your expenses.
