Default I should have said Hello first...

Hello!

I'm Trudy, I joined the other day when I was trying to get booked on the BLOG2NOLA cruise. I got so caught up in the excitement of trying to confirm, I did not stop to say Hello & introduce myself. Sorry about that!

I am Melody's coworker/friend, she told me alot about this site & the members here, we also share cruise fever :o . So here I am!

I am originally from New Orleans lived there most of my life, moved away when I had enough of the city and opted to live in a rural area so I could have my horses in my own backyard. Been here 20 years, and am about to sell & move back to "the city" this time to Baton Rouge since I now work there. My commute is about 3 1/2 hours per day at present. But that is all good, I'll still have the horses (or at least one of them) and I'm within 4 years of being able to retire.

I've been on 4 cruises (and that is NOT enough!) the last 2 were Carnival and I am hooked. I am the proud owner of 2 carnivel "Ship on a Stick" awards, one was for stuffing the most fruit in my bathing suit. (it was a ONE piece) the other was for being in a skit that involved the Macarana (you would've had to been there for that one)

I'm looking forward to chatting and sailing with fellow cruisemates!

T C

Welcome Trudy,
This is a great place to hang out between cruises! Your commute sounds brutal but nice that it's not forever.
Hope you like it here!

Welcome Trudy from the lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) and me. We're so happy to have you aboard. You know you're a real Carnival groupie when your trophy case contains nothing but an array of 24 karet, gold, plastic ships on a stick. It sounds like you, like us, have learned to have a GREAT time aboard cruise ships in general, and Carnival ships in particular. We look forward to cruisin' with you sometime in the not to distant future.

Welcome Trudy! Two ships on a stick!! Color me green with envy. I got a rose and a bottle of champagne for my efforts on Carnival Glory, We are glad to have you and I think you will find that this site is a fun place to be. There are some real nice folks here.

Welcome Trudy,,,

Enjoy your time spent here,,,any ? just ask,,,someone will know the answer.

Wow you do have a long commute,,,but sounds like you have a plan

I've never cruised Carnival yet,,,,so I have never seen a ship on a stick. But sounds like you had fun winning them.

See you onboard....and at work Monday! Mel

Hi Trudy, welcome! I just got back off a Carnival cruise, and tried my darndest to win a ship on a stick playing trivia, but alas....not this time!
However, any girl who would stuff enough fruit in her bathing suit to win a ship on a stick, sounds like she belongs here at CruiseMates!
Welcome aboard!

You know I have never thought of the boards as a "Cruiser's Waiting Room", but that was a great way to put it. We all meet here and share our experiences as we wait for our next cruise.

Very well put

Mea Maxima Culpa; Trudy, by all means welcome aboard to a great place to find out about cruising.

Thanks

Oh I'm afraid I won't be able to accomplish that assignment alone! but possibly with your help we can try!

Thanks to all of you for welcoming me, this place looks like it will be fun. I can hardly wait for the cruise, I'm thinking perhaps we should have a pre cruise practice party in NOLA for anyone within driving distance??? Anyone interested? Of course you will have to join in the assignment to keep Mel in check! 8)

I wanna know what Kooter's edit was on his post!!!! AND my cabin had BETTER not be at the bottom of the ship or under the galley.....otherwise I will know Kooter has been playing games with me! As a matter of fact, my cabin had better be right next to my sister's, best friend's, mother's, brother's, cousin's best friend from college.....Kooter!

Kooter....I would love to trust you but the auditor in me is just a wee bit leery! As my Mom would say....You would probably lie like a cheap rug and grin like a mule eatin briars while you do it! You gotta love my Mom...she has lots of cute sayings! Melody

Mel..maybe we can have an onboard version of "CruiseMate (Family) Feud" since you'll have alot of your relatives onboard...the rest of us could "family up" based upon either our geographic region, or how we match up on these boards..all the CM'ers from Canada could be one team..the women from the west coast could be another...the single men and those that would like to be single, could be another, divide up the couples that have been married for over 25 years....I'm sure Kuki and Paul could think up some good questions and John Heald could be the game host (we could have everyone do a survey (whether they are going on the cruise or not, before we sail to gain the answers that reflect the folks that post on these boards)

can we have a theme night where everyone could wear their PJ's or nightshirts or speedos or thongs :::: on the deck at midnight and we could have a 60's music night CM party

And of course we MUST have a "Match Game" Cruisemate Style and maybe since so many of us love to read, a seminiar where we can all read one book (before we board),( maybe I can do research and find a really objective book about Hurricane Katrina) and discuss it ..remember this CM cruise should be a party with a purpose (to paraphrase my favorite morning DJ Tom Joyner)
