I'm sure that the Giants will show up ready to play. Nonetheless, these teams played each other in Week 17 -- the last game of the regular season -- in a showdown that was way too close for comfort for our Patriots, who came out on top only by tacking a Giants receiver who cought a "Hail Mary" pass on their own two yard line following a come-from-behind touchdown that gave the lead to the Patriots. Significantly, the Giants scored more points against the Patriots than any other opponent. That finale, as exciting as it was for fans on both sides, most assuredly will give the Patriots additional impetus not to take the Giants for granted. I'm sure that New England will show up well prepared and gunning for Giant.

And I also doubt that this game will be as close as the last!

Norm.

Know what's so very cool?
My Sis lives in Vegas....
Santa Fe (near her house) had the Giants at 5 to 1 head to head.
I had her put 1,000.00 on the Giants for me,
She called and told me I have to buy her dinner to collect.

Dan,

Good for you! Now if you had just put that $1K on the Mike Tyson - Buster Douglas fight...........

My impressions of the game:

A pretty boring game, actually. A bit of scoring in the first quarter, leading to a 7 - 3 halftime score. But no scoring in the second and third quarters. Another boring quarter (4th quarter) to start -- and only at about the 11:00 minute mark did the game finally become interesting. Three lead changes, and then the Giants score to settle the matter.

Further impressions:

The Manning family is quite a family! Peyton wins a Super Bowl last year, and younger brother Eli wins one this year. Of course, Dad is Archie Manning.........

I thought New England looked uninspired for most of the game. It looked like to me New York was more fired up and ready to play. It's been my experience over the years that the team that wants it more is usually the team that wins. Talent, skill, coaching -- none of that really matters. It's the team that's fired up and ready to knock heads that usually wins. Football is a game of emotion more than anything else.

New York looked ready to knock heads, and New England sort of slept-walked through the game. Watching the game, I had a feeling that New York was going to win.

Got another call from her. Says she didn't have the heart to tell me yesterday....she did NOT place the bet.
Said that she thought she was doing me a favor because she was certain the Patriots would win.
