Default Another NEW CruiseMates Group Cruise coming soon.

We're just working out some final details, but it looks like we're going to have another REALLY interesting group cruise to announce SOON.

A couple of hints for you.

It sails in Oct. and anyone living anywhere in the east is going to be pretty darn excited.

And we'll get to try out 2.0 at terrific prices!

Well we did at one point (believe it was last year) offer a 7 day cruise out of NY, and we had to cancel it because no one had booked it before they took the cabins back.

That's the thing about group cruises... people have to want to go, and book to go

I believe that one didn't do well because it was one of their boring 7 day itineraries, to Florida and the Bahamas.

Also, many people don't look kindly on sailing out of the NE in the middle of winter.... when it consumes a full day coming and going before the weather is comfortable enough to enjoy the outdoor decks.

Yes, I did not even consider that cruise because I had already done that Itin, and now we like the longer cruises. The one we are looking at next is Western Carribean, on Jade from New York.

I will say though, we have left from New York three times in dead of winter. Twice we were in shorts and capris on the next day, and one of those trips in the afternoon it was a bathing suit ( day one ). This year it was colder as it was all over the place, but I was still in a t shirt and jeans and we sat out on Deck seven. To me day one and the last day is my getting to know the ship and such and the last day is the packing up and such. The rest of the days have been great. I am sure it can not be, BUT we really had luck on our three in two years.

We love sailing out of New York, it is just great. I can pack what I want and it is so easy to drive. We had friends who took a train and it was so easy, its a great port to sail from although getting off now, is terrible, the porter issue.

Sorry Ken.. but this is a Halloween cruise we're looking at.

But .. who knows... maybe it'll be enticing enough that you'll want to switch

Darn! Wanted to try NCL and also like NY departure. A lot less airfare for us, or a short drive even!
However, we're already booked for Oct. on Princess out of L.A.!
but....if the CM cruise is interesting enough, maybe.......
I'll be waiting to hear the details....

Dan,
I may stand corrected but I am thinking that's Kuki's "hint" that this is an NCL cruise. NCL recently announced a bunch of quality upgrades to their cruises referred to as "2.0"
But as I said, could be wrong.

I think the October cruises are the best ones. Kids in schoool, better behaving crowds, less chances of a tropical storm or worse.

Wife and I have always wanted to goof off in New York for a couple days AND want to cruise the North East....this might be perfect.
Plus RT from PDX is as cheap as any other destination in the USA.

The only new rule we have is:

If we fly to the port it has to be at least a 7 day cruise.

I know that Carnival does not sail out of NYC during the winter (According to CD Lenny Halliday, the seas are too rough) So that leves NCL or RCCL.

Actually, another one sails year round now as well, HAL, Noordam. But with the 2.0 clue I am quite sure it is NCL.
