Default PRAYERS NEEDED

Hi everyone,

A request for prayers for my dad Joe.* He, as I type this, is undergoing surgery.* He is having a complete knee replacement done.* He will be in the hospital for two weeks, with about 6-*8 weeks of recovery.* Prayers are needed for my mom too.* She doesn't drive and has been dependent on my dad for getting to work, shopping, appointments, etc.*

Thanks in advance for your prayers

Cheryl, I'll certainly be praying. Is there other family nearby to help your parents, or will it all fall to you? If that is the case, I'll be praying for you, too!

Prayers on the way! As someone with a 5 year old knee and a four year old hip (parts of me are very young!), I know what he's going through.

It will all be worth it - a life without pain! Make sure he does the therapy afterwards and all will be well.

Thanks for the prayers.

Dad is doing fine. The surgery went well. When my mom and son saw him in the recovery room, he was flirting with all the nurses. Guess he's doing well.

When they told him he would be going up to a regular room, he said to my son "Oh good, new nurses." He has an epidural with heavy duty drugs hooked up to it. He's not in any pain for now. They plan on starting his therapy on Monday. He has already promised us all that he will complete his therapy. He can't wait to get back out on the golf course.

Darlene---my brothers are around but that's not saying much. They do some stuff for my parents but being the only girl most of rests on my shoulders. I don't mind though. I have awesome parents.

prayers on the way for your dad and for you and your family. you might want to check with his health insurance company to see if they would provide transportation to and from his therapy sessions since your mom doesnt drive. some insurance companys offer it as one of the services provided under the benefits plan.

craysis---thanks for the prayers and the suggestion of transportation. However, the last I heard was his insurance company will actually pay for someone to come to the house to do his therapy.

Glad to read that the surgery went well, and that your dad is "feeling his oats"!

Okay I like your dad he is doing well and hitting on the nurse. That is a man who knows how to make the best of the situation. I will pray for his quick recovery. Glad to here getting to therapy won't be an issue.
