Default The Love Boat

The first season of "The Love Boat" is now out on DVD. The first set of DVDs has 12 episodes from 1977 on it. I also had the pleasure of meeting Gavin MacLeod (Capt. Stubbing) at the Cruise3Sixty conference at Ft. Lauderdale this past weekend. I wasn't able to get a picture with him, but I was able to snap a picture of him as I was walking away, here it is!

Also, in honor of "The Love Boat" release on DVD, Princess is giving away a free cruise for 2 to the Mexican Riviera, you can enter online at:

Majesty of the Seas - 10/03 & 02/07 & 11/08
Enchantment of the Seas - 10/04 & 10/11
Mariner of the Seas - 10/05
Vision of the Seas - 10/06 & 09/07
Carnival Liberty - 10/07
Adventure of the Seas - 9/08
Ruby Princess - 12/09
Voyager of the Seas - 9/10
Carnival Spirit - 11/10

It is still out there. I believe it is the Pacific Princess.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Courage and perserverance have a magical talisman; before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into the air.

Pick your company wisely! Hang around people who are going to help you become all God created you to be.

I remember the very first episode shown whch was the pilot episode. I think only one of thwe original characters stayed on, I think it was Doc.
Dick Van Patten was the Captain...Gabe Kaplan was a guest.

The Love Boat reruns are the reason I started to cruise. I would watch the show every night, and think, I want to do this too!

A bit of trivia, if you watch this show. On many episodes, when the passengers first walked onboard, and were greeted by the staff, invariably, many of the guest stars carried a Gucci train case. I used to make a game of it, to see if, the episode I was watching, would have the Gucci:)

It's too bad "our" problems couldn't be fixed in an hour, like the Love Boat:)

Trip, with her book & tea!
