with the pending downturn in the economy...the rising cost of gas and food...and the fact very often our senior citizens who live alone or do not have family near by to look out for them are having to make decisions between their medicine or food, and many have no way of shopping or must be dependent upon the kindness of others to drive them to the store or in fact may not have a well nourish hot meal on a regular basis..it might be a good time to donate alittle time or make a cash donation, to your local Meals On Wheels Program
I was watching ABC network news this evening that did a feature about how donations are significantly down due to the economy, yet the demand for assistance has never been greater
while many of us will be going to church and then eating a big Easter family meal, I think I will contact my local parish senior citizen which host the local Meals on Wheels Program and donate alittle of my time and funds
Venice, that is a good idea, ther is going to be difficult for meals on wheels to pay such high fuel costs. I'm going to help in any way I can.

Meals on Wheels is a GREAT organization, and it does a tremendous amount of wonderful work for the elderly. My mother delivered food to the "elderly" when she was well into her 80's! I'd suggest donating whatever you can, as I know it will be used as promised, to help those who need it the worst!
We are always striving to find things for the developmentally disabled/entally retarded individuals we support to do. We take some of our people to pack and others to ride in the van and deliver the meals to those needing them. It is good for our people to do this and they are proud of themselves to be doing something helpful to others.
