Today I got a phone call from NH. Patty was taken to the hospital last night. she had to have emergency surgery. she had a blockage in her bowel. The woman she now lives with called me this morning. At that time Patty was out of surgery and in ICU. It is hoped that she will improve enough today to be moved out of ICU. I will keep you updated on her progress.

Laura, I am so sorry to hear this. My prayers for Patty for a complete and quick recovery. And for you dear LAdy also. I know how this must make you feel being so far away and not being able to be near her at this time. Take care and know all the prayers will be answered.
Thoughts and prayers are with Patty, I am sure it is not easy for either of you. I tend to personalize things, Laura, you will know what I mean when I say that , it is harder for Patty, and those like her, more bewildering, and they need alot of loving and hugging and PATIENCE. I hope she will be well enough to be home soon and that you can maybe talk on the phone soon.

Thank you all for your love and prayers. Patty and I are so lucky to have such wonderful people for friends.
Ray, thanks for posting the picture. She had such a great time on the Glory. She wore the medal that Mark Price gave her for months. The "ship on a stick" is proudly displayed on her bureau.
Delft, You are so right it is more scary to someone that does not understand that hospitals are there to make you better. I remember how many times Patty said she was always "scared to go to the hospital" Thanks so much each and every one of you.
