Here is my first attempt at stumping Ray and AR. This one is pretty easy as the island across the way is pretty recognizable both to those that have been there (Ray, Mike, and many others) and to those that may not have been there. If this one is too easy; I have a few more to try.

Not Fiji. By the way, I am looking for the specific name of the island in the distance.
Here is a bonus picture; no need to ask anyone to guess where this was taken; all will know.

Second pic is Washington DC. First one, I am thinking Molokai or Lanai?
No, no, and no.

Distance? Like in 26 miles across the sea? OK, I don't think it's Catalina.
I immediately thought of Mr. Rogers and Mr. Hammerstein and their friend Bloody Mary, who sang about Bali H'ai. In any event, you certainly could get away with shooting South Pacific there, wherever it is.
With the grass looking houses I am saying possiblely Tahitian area islands.
Right area, but what is the island in the distance.
AR, Bora Bora was the inspiration for Bali Hai even though it was actually filmed on Kauai. This picture is of a nearby island.
Here is the third picture from our Asian travels.

Bonus picture is just down the road from Marc's place??
This is the moat around the Imperial Palace; Chidorigafuchi Park is on the right side of the photo. Arlene and I decided to take one of the pedal boats (you can see one towards bottom left of photo) instead of a row moat onto the moat. Only problem, my legs were too long to pedal so Arlene had to do all the work.

The first picture is from the lobby of the Intercontinental in Papeete looking out at Moorea. We had the overnight flight so this was taken just after dawn. An hour later we were checked in, changed, and sitting on the sanc by the infiniti pool in this picture.
The third picture is the Daibutsu translated as Big Buddha. It is actually the third largest buddha in Japan. It used to be in a large wooden building which was lost in a tsunami in the 15th century.
Once Arlene forwards me some more pix to post I will post some more.
