Default I have returned !!! Opps!

Alas I have returned!!!
I am so excited, but none of my coworkers want to hear about it so I thought this would be the perfect time to return to my old friends.

There is probably only a handful that may remember me. Back in 2004 when My wife, Lori, and daughter Samantha and me took our first cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas from San Juan to Barabados and back. It was a most wonderful experience. Since that time economics have kept me from cruising again but this is the year of my return to cruising, the best type of vacation I can imagine.

In May Samantha is going to Spain for a summer class. When her class is completed Lori and I are going to Madrid to pick her up and take an express train to Barcelona where we will board Norwegian Cruise ship Gem for a seven night cruise.

Welcome back stever I of course don't remember you at all. But that's okay what ports is your upcoming cruise going to? We want to hear all about it. My co-workers are sick of hearing about my cruise. I just don't let that stop me from talking about it. 8)

Katlady,
My cruise starts with a day at sea, then our first stop is Valetta Malta, which due to English colonization is an English speaking island near the boot tip of Italy. From there we head to Naples Italy where we have a day trip planned to go to Pompeii. The following day is the port city of Civitivechia Italy, this is actually the closest port to Rome so another day trip to see the Colosseum and Vatican City, the next day has us in Florence where we decided to do a wine tasting excursion and see the leaning tower of Pisa. The next day is a stop in Nice France. I told Lori no excursions here! I am certain by the time we get here I am going to need a day of rest. The next morning we are back in Barcelona where the cruise ends but not the vacation, we will again travel by train to Valencia, where we will meet the host family Samantha stayed with and she can show us around, finally back to Madrid at the end of the week for the long plane ride home.

That sounds like fun it's the Florence port Livorno? Did you do your Vatican tour through the ship? Malta sounds like a wonderful stop. My cruise is coming up and we have some of the same stops Livorno and Civitivechia. I planned to go to Pisa by train but now I hearing something about a strike. I hope it doesn't happen.

Kat, you are correct it is Livorno,
I have done the day trips through NCL I think it makes sense especially in a country that generally is not an english speaking country.
This is my first trip to Europe and figure if I schedule the trips through NCL there is a better chance of being with others who also speak English.
AS for the strike, I certainly hope that does not happen, for you or me in Spain that would be a difficult set back to our plans there.
