Default Anyone ever had passport photo denied?

My DH and I went to apply for our passports on Saturday at local post office. 1st of all they didn't start taking applications until 10:00 and we were there at 9:00 which is what they told me on the phone. They we went back at 10:00 for them to tell us that there photo machine was broke. So the only other place in this small town is Walgreens. So we went to there and had our photos take. When we went back to the post office, the person said she didn't know if it would work because of the poor quality of the photos. I had her send them off anyway and was just wondering if anyone ever had them reject your passport photos? What a day!

Yup sure have! In DS's case, there was a shadow behind his ear, so it was rejected, same with the second set, Then the third set was re done by a photographer, it was fine but they said he looked to differant from the first two pictures so we had to get the doctor ( guaranter ) to sign they were both the same people

Now all the places have the new digital over here, but for a while, every ones were getting rejected, and it was a real pain in the butt!

I have also had a photo rejected. Not once but 5 times in one sitting. I tend to close my eyes during the taking of the photo, and that's a no no.

Hopefully it will go well with you.

when United States female citizens of the Muslim religion, take their passport photos, do they have to remove their head covering ? if so does that not violate their religous beliefs that their heads are always covered in public ?

maybe Mean Dean knows the answer to this one also

When I tried to get Patty a passport they rejected her photo. Patty is short. When the photographer took her photo he did not adjust the camera to her height. Instead he had her look up at the camera. this caused her face to look elongated. the photos were rejected at the Post Office. By the way the PO retook the photos for us for $12.

Default Passport Photos

I'm reminded of something I heard a long time ago....

Anyone who really looks like their passport photo is too ill to travel.

I have heard of it, but I just had mine renewed, had no problem, took a whole 12 days to get a new passport back in the mail.

Donna,

Did you pay extra to get it back faster, or was that just the regular?

Back in the bygone days of my Air Force career (1973) I needed an official passport. My picture was rejected five times before it was accepted and I received the passport. At the same time I applied for a civilian passport and just out of curiosity sent in the best of the rejected photos and it was processed without question. Turns out it was the ultra picky folks in charge of submitting official passport applications to the State Department that caused the rejections, seems that rejection by the State Department was tracked and held against the department at the USAF Personnel Center.

Hi JH,
That was just the regular, didn't pay any extra....I also mailed it in myself and saved another $25 by not having someone at the PO do it.

Default passport email

I just received an email that my passport was mailed. Does that mean that they approved my papers? And does that mean that they are sending me the actual passport, or could they be sending me a letter telling me that something needs to be redone?

Guess you'll find out when the mail comes. Chances are good that it went through fine.

I would expect that you'll see your passport in a couple days. I had mine renewed and I got the new one and a few days later, my old one came in the mail. From start to finish, 12 days!

We received our passports, it only took 9 days. See what the government can do when they want to. I thought it was suppose to take 4 weeks :o
