If You Like 70's Music (aka Earth Wind and Fire)

you might want to check out Brian Culbertson's brand new CD "Bringing Back The Funk"..since I am a member of his fan club I received an advance copy today in the mail ..Maurice White of EWF is the producer and the entire CD will make you want to dig out your old platform shoes and disco clothes and remember going to the disco on Saturday night and dancing the night away to good old 70's "funk music"

Brian will be on the upcoming Capital Jazz Cruise on the Grandeur of the Seas next September out of Baltimore going to Bermuda, of which I will be on, so I better practice my 70's dance moves on rollerskates

Venice,
We saw Earth, Wind & Fire Saturday night at Universal studios and it was a wonderful show. I wasn't a fan until I met my husband...so glad I finally got to see them.

Venice,

I love EWF! And KC & The Sunshine Band, and all the rest! I saw KC live in concert here in town a couple of years ago. He still is the high-energy guy he was 30 years ago!

By the way, any chance you could send me a copy of that CD..............? Buddy, buddy.........!

Dean

I've been to two Earth,Wind & Fire concerts back in the '70's. Both were great and their lazer light show is second to none. DW loves EWF but has never been to one of their concerts. Something always came up that prevented her from going. Last week I bought two tickets to see EWF at the Hilton in Las Vegas on June 6th. We are both excited and can't wait. :D 8)

Mean Dean, my good buddy..I'll do you one better..go to Brian's official website...click on music...you can play the electronic press kit of his new CD...turn up the volume on your computer and put on your BOSE headset and be ready to party

fyi..KC and The Sunshine Band played at a private party here in New Orleans a year before Katrina that I had the pleasure of attending..they were awesome

Seadog2...have fun at EWF in Vegas..the only issue I ever have about seeing a music group in Vegas is that they never do encores because the casino does not want to keep the high rollers away from the crap tables any longer then they have to..you might want to surprise your DW with a copy of Brian's CD which was produced by Maurice White of EWF fame...it is a great tribute to the style of EWF and Mauriec even sings on a few tracks

I really didn't like 80's music. I did have the leisure suits and the platforms.

I just previewed and ordered the CD. Funky!!! 8)

Dave The Wave...I never thru out my platform shoes from the 70's..just wish I had kept my Afro

SeaDog2..the official release date is next Tuesday so you'll be able to buy it online or any record store

Mehawk.."funk music" was more in the 70's...don't ask me what the music was in the 80's ..I'm forever tuned into the time warp of 50's-70's but I love my smooth jazz starting in the 90's with Grover Washington

seadog2 April 23rd, 2008 07:34 PM

venice, thanks I ordered it online yesterday. I too was a funkateer from the '70's. Always been a big jazz fan since the '60's that's all Dad listened to. John Coltrain, T Monk, Boney James, Les McCann and Eddie Harris just to name a few.

OK Venice,

I finally visited his website, and listened to one of the songs -- and it was great!

Problem is, there's only one song...........

Any chance I could still talk you out of a copy of that CD??!
