Default We have returned

We have returned from our Carnival Freedom Transatlantic cruise.

The cruise was great. Tiresome but great. I will post pictures soon.

We did get home but our Lugage did NOT. Seems the Italians did not put the 2 bags on the plane so we looked and looked at the carosel truning in JFK but the did not show. We went on to Orlando and made the claim. Funny thing the baggage clerks insisted we wait til all the bags had been delivered to the carosel in Olando. They would not take out word that we did not put the bags on in JFK but anyway the claim was made after their satisfaction. Got a call from American Airlines today to verifiy we were missing the bags. Wanted to know what was in them. I told them clothes.
So we wait and hope they show up soon. The gal said they always find 99% of lost luggage. I said I hope I am not part of the 1%.

Anyway Helen and I enjoyed every minute of our Cruisemates Cruise. The worst part is always getting there and coming back. The in between we enjoyed.

I want to thanks all of those with us for the assistance they gave in pushing Helen around especially in Florance. They were great. Thanks.

Welcome back Ray and Helen..........can't wait to see your latest photos.

Sorry to hear about your lost luggage and hope that you get it back. I know how you feel........when I got off of the Caribbean Princess on Thursday, our bags were nowhere to be found.......the hole on the ship was checked twice, curbside, crew disembarkation area and I checked EVERY section 4 times. NADA.

The pier staff was fantastic at Port Everglades. We finally gave up and file the claim and we were actually the last to go through customs........very weary, I might add.

The next morning, I received a call from a TA and tour co. in Haines City, FL.........they had ALL 3 PIECES!!!! YAHOOOOOOOO!!! Princess had no responsibility, and the company didn't offer us anything, but we didn't care.......Don drove 2 hours each way and picked it up on Friday. I have never been so glad to see a dirty pile of laundry in my life! We head to the MED on the Emerald in 4 weeks and we were envisioning a mad shopping frenzy. PHEW.........don't have to do that now.........all of our stuff is HOME!

Ray, I hope you have the same experience and hug your luggage when it arrives. I even went .... "awwwww, my dirty underwear......I LOVE YOU!"

Ray, if you have to lose luggage the trip home is the best time. Happened to us last trip home from Rome. Showed up at the door three days later. Good luck. Mike

Welcome home! Glad you had a good time and the luggage will show, eventually! :-)

Years ago, I lost luggage coming home from Hawaii and thought I'd never see it again! A few days later, very late at night, there was a knock at my door! I looked out the window to see tail lights of a truck and there on the porch was my big bag! They didn't even wait for me to sign for it.

Welcome home Ray and Helen, Ray, we've missed you in Chat!
So your luggage didn't make it home with you - you have been hanginf around with Kuki too much, that's the problem!!

Hope it turns up soon, and when it does, give it a big hug like Kuki did!

Welcome home. I'm glad you made it fine.
I know the feeling about lost luggage. It happend to us in Memphis on our way to Europe. The bags showed up 3 days later. We had to buy jackets and sweaters.

See you on chat.
I want lots of details too..

Welcome home Ray and Helen. Sorry about the lost luggage, hope they turn up soon. Just be glad it didn't happen before the cruise!
It was so good seeing you both on your way down to the port. Glad you stopped off to stretch and have a cup of coffee. We enjoyed your visit even though it was a short one.

welcome home! sorry about your lost luggage.... quit hanging out with Kuki; he told the luggage trolls to go after someone else...

I have a friend that travels ALOT; as she goes to alot of places internationally, this is what she does. She purchases clothes from consignments stores/goodwill etc to travel with; if she needs dressy clothes she buys them on her trip; if they are expensive dressy clothes she ships them back home..... she has had her luggage lost on a regular basis as she travels about 5-6 times per year; if they lose her luggage it doesn't concern her as it is all consignment stuff anyway...
