If You Think That You Are Paying A Lot For Gasoline
While during tours on the Freedom cruise, I noticed gasoline prices at the pumps in Spain, Italy and Madiera(Portugal). The average price was about 1.5 Euros per (gasp) liter. Since a liter is about 33 ounces, it would take slightly less than 4 liters to make a gallon. Therefore, a gallon would cost somewhat more than 4.5 Euros .
Now comes the fun part. When you convert that price to dollars, people in those countries are paying almost $9 a gallon. ONe additional point of interest. There seemed to be quite a few toll roads in Italy and Spain.
You all are talking gasoline - I unfortunately drive a diesel - here in Ks. diesel yesterday was $4.30 a gal.
Everyone seriously has to look at what we can do to get the government to get the prices back to reason. I know everyone remembers when fule was as we would say now "dirt cheap", my dad had a gasoline station where someone came out checked oil, water, pumped your gas, washed your windshield and back window, etc, etc. and you only paid 15 cents a gal. If the price of fuel went up it was called "Gas War" now it's just plain price gouging!!!
