Default R U Compatible Music Wise ???

According to a Book entitled "Date Out of Your League", the type of music you play on your system or IPOD/MP3 player, is a strong indicator to your personality and compatibility on a date or on a cruise

if you like classic rock -
male - middle of the road type
female- are in denial of the aging process

if you like heavy metal
male -hidden anger issues
female- prefers the "bad boy" type of male

if you like country music
male- very sentimental and romantic
female - "good girl" with strong virtues

if you like classical music
male - smart and sensitive
female - smart and sensitive and probably mastered an instrument as a child

if you like jazz 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
male - well read, deep thinker, likes to take his time and enjoy the entire experience
female - well read, deep thinker, enjoys male who likes jazz for obvious reasons

So that explains why I love full charter smooth jazz cruises so much ::

And if I have Mozart, Judy Garland, Emmylou Harris, Il Divo, Tony Bennet Errol Garner, and Julie London on my iPod, what does that make me?

Me too,,,plus a lot of Big Band, and Jazz. I once had a young lad express amazement that an I-Pod would work with that kind of music on it!

So if I prefer all the "Oldies" (50's and 60's Rock 'n Roll) does that mean I am also in denial of the aging process?

RD..since we share a common love of 50's & 60's oldies , I can give you an answer.....YES !!! ::::

I was once on a cruise that featured Paul Revere and the Raiders, Herman's Hermit's, Gerry and The Pacemakers, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap (not a charter by the way) and the entire audience was wearing our clothes from that era and not one of us in that group would say that we are aging ..of course my grown son put it all in perspective to me one day when he said that I was caught in a musical time warp..my response was the 50's and 60's was the era of great, great, great popular music of all kind

Once in the scene shop, I had a student wander by and remark that re really enjoyed the music that was playing on the CD player. I told him it was Frank Sinatra and he asked, I swear this is true,"Oh, is he new or something? I've never heard of him." How sad to go through live not know about Frankie or Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman, etc. Don't even get me started on the classical aritists!

Charlie

P.S. Vivaldi rocks!

Both Keith and I like jazz, mostly. but we have an assortment of other music as well, such as Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennet. I am crazy about Brazilian music, all old stuff . . . bossa nova, samba . . .

Last summer, we attended a Beach Boys concert. All ages were represented, and nobody denied their age! We just had a marvelous time!

I don't think I can fit into any specific slot as far as to what type music I like.
I like the Eagles, ABBA, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Roy Orbison , Elvis, Don Ho, Dusty Springfield, George Strait, Ray Price, Pablo Cruse, Jimmy Buffett
-- I guess you can get the picture. I love most Latin music and some of my favorite c.d's are Latin instrumentals.
I love to watch Andre' Rieu ( spl ) --he takes classical music to another level.
I even like Dolly Parton !!
I never really cared for Kenney Chesney's " She thinks my tractors sexy "
--just couldn't get into that, but I don't have a tractor--maybe that's why.

I wonder where Reggae/Soca/Calypso.... Latin (all styles).... Techno/Dance/Trance.... 80's wave/Punk.... Rap/Hip-Hop/R & B and grunge/new-school rock fit into the mix?
The musical styles are limited to old folks it seems. (Plus, most people I know 50+ couldn't load an iPod to save their life)

boSeaphus..the book did not mention other styles but feel free to make up your own personality trait for the type of music you listed ...I fit your age group but that's why we over 50 crowd have grandchildren so they can upload our music and show us how to use the new stuff ::

Bo is right, I wouldn't know what to do with an iPod! I just finally graduated to a CD walkman from a cassette player!

I really listen to most styles of music and what I listen to depends largely on my mood. Exceptions, there are very little music that I like that is country or the newer heavey metal of today. As for the IPOD, I have one and I can load it just fine, the CD player was replaced a few years ago with a basic MP3 player and upgraded to the 8g IPOD for my birthday. Fav. Music is 50-60's, a party always comes alive with people on the dance flooor with some of those classics.

grandchildren love to play on grandparents computer and break it and then act like they don't know anything..but they also are the reason you take out a line of credit on the house to take the entire family on a Disney Cruise so you can watch them enjoy cruising

they also are the ones that might come visit you when you go to the nursing home

they are also the one's that can show you how to use your IPOD?MP3 player

It sounds like they need to develop a vaccine against this "grandchildren" thing.

grandchildren are the greatest vacine that grandparents can be blessed with !!!

when I had my back operation my grandson was just learning how to walk..every day for 2 weeks while I was walking with my walker my grandson would hold on to the walker and walk with me..we "decked out" my walker with my grandson's drawings and the music he liked on an old CD Player with speakers and it must have made quite a sight on my street watching us both learn how to walk together

those memories are priceless

GRANDCHILDREN ARE THE BEST THING IN THE WHOLE WORLD!

Venice, I like 50's, 60's, and 70's music. I also like Alicia Keys, The Neville Brothers, any New Orleans (and most Louisiana) musician, zydeco, a cute little girl named Connie Talbot and a good New Orleans jazz band. What does that make me?

Grandchildren to me can be only described as the greatest blessing there can be, a reward for raising ones own children, to see life go on, in the faces of ones child's child.............

I didn't see any personality indicator if you like Urban, R&B and Soul music.

Venice,

That sounds like a plan...with dinner after at the Italian place with sidewalk tables...okay? Actually I go to Wednesday at Lafayette Square frequently. I have a friend who's employer, Hancock Bank, sponsors the event and they have a tent with beer, wine, soft drinks, water and a few snacks. It's kinda like a meet and greet for "networking" there. I'd rather second line with you. Let me see if TC will join us! I'll be there unless the surgery is scheduled before then!

Hey Venice,

Talked to TC. She starts her new job on June 3rd and she thinks it probably wouldn't be a VERY good idea to ask for time off to go drinking and second lining in New Orleans since it's a new job and they don't know her as well as I do! I thought it was a great idea. So it's just me so far...unless the surgery is scheduled!
