Default A vehicle that fits in a backpack

Yup that is what I said. From the website http://www.xpcarteam.com/: "This Ultra-Ultra light vehicle packs into a user backpack for use in emergency situations." I want one. If I get a flat tire I just pop my car out of the back pack.

They are also designing a car based on a zodiac inflatable boat. It's an interesting idea a lightweight inflatable car. I want the red one.

The inflatable should be. It's a rolling air-bag.

I heard the CEO of this company speak on a radio show. They thought the would have him on as a lark but the CEO suprised them. Think to yourself "how safe is a zodiac inflatable boat?" The Coast Guard uses them.
Here is another quote from the website "Utilizing safe non-grid-connected energy cassettes to produce the electricity to run a polymer airbeam, carbon fiber constructed ultra light and safer bodied automobiles priced at very low invoices with extremely high energy efficiency."

Would I buy the first one that came to market. I doubt it. However, finding alternates to gasoline or cars with better gas mileage is on everyone's mind now days. It will be interesting to watch what happens with this company. Is the design really going to work on the open road? Is it safe? Is it affordable? Only time will tell, but new technology is interesting.

Gives new meaning to the words "Bumper Cars".

Take care,

A good idea like the smart car in Europe, but until the SUV's are off the road or in smaller numbers it could be dangerous. I believe we will see a large group of high milage cars available in the next 3-5 years. If gas prices stay at high levels and I think they will, smaller cars will be the new in thing. Mike

To paraphrase a well-known slogan, "SUV's don't kill people, people kill people.". A woman here in Nashville went on a rampage in a Lexus 430 [which is either a sedan or a sport coupe], hit the same car three times, and ended up stuck on a large rock. She may also have killed a 62 year-old motorcyclist; police are investigating.

"how safe is a zodiac inflatable boat?" The Coast Guard uses them.

They use them as a floatation device and it is used to transport. I promise that if it hit a rock or was hit by a munitions, it would sink like a stone.
